A Uruguayan rugby team were in a plane crash. Some survived the impact and ended up living off the fatalities.

A terrible tragedy, how does a club recover from such an awful event. Seeing the videos and photos of players having fun on board is so sad to watch.

Really sad seeing the news just now about this, they were fourth division only a few years ago and making this cup final had been one of the biggest things to happen to them. Awful stuff.

There's a picture online of three players who missed the plane, due to certain circumstances, sat in the home dressing room. Incredible. Another person associated with the Club missed the flight as he forgot his passport. The plane was changed too, I believe.

I have been reading stories that other Brazilian League teams are going to be loaning them players at no expense and another that the team they were due to meet in the final will not play the game and let them have the trophy.

horribly sad. the circumstances around it all sound awful too - i suppose they are for any air crash, and there's an element of speculation, but sounds like the plane was flying just past its limits, and that it requested priority but was put into a holding pattern because of another emergency

Their league went through the process, as they have to under the rules, and didn't do anything to the club.

I imagine the injuries he sustained in the crash will have played a part in someway. Most have placed a lot of strain on various organs for sometime

This is so tragic.
