Cheating

As Henry has brought it up, what is the worst bit of cheating you've seen by a Bees player?

A certain legend called Mr Hunt's dive on his comeback from injury v Bournemouth at home was cringeworthy. He was brilliant that day, got one of them sent off but that dive was crap.

I think we've been cheated against more than we have cheated but I would say that.

I think Edmundo was convinced it was a foul

Mcshane on Rhodes. Not diving obviously but purposlly (sp) hurt Rhodes coz he had the better of him.

Terrible dive by Rhodes and spent the next year on the sidelines in an attempt to convince everyone he didn't cheat.

Callum Willock earning a penalty for his air kick a few years ago lol scandalous !!!

...............home to Barnsley.??...................terrific....................

That wasn't cheating, that was sh*te ability and rank officiating. Wasn't it my mate the now retired Mr Beeby?
Very funny though.:sorted:

Claridge's dive at Bradford for them in the 3-3 draw is one that still gets me. It was a gay bunny hop dive that you could tell was rubbish but the ref fell for it.:sad:Strangely Windass gets an 8 match ban for calling the ref a cheating, crooked c*** in the car park after the game and he'd earned them a point!

Cheating

Hulse's dive at Crewe that got Marshall sent off was pathetic and led to their winner. Again, how did the ref fall for it!:D

That was just plan funny.

Garyn Roberts at newport ages ago when he palmed the ball into the net,

My mate asked him after the game if he hand balled it and the answer was 'of course I did'

I was seething that day when the ref blew up for that, though some tw*ttish Bradford fans afterwards said it evened things out as DJ Campbell had dived to win his penalty in the first half.

Saint Tabb's dive, which earned him a booking.

I remember a League Cup match against Sheffield Wednesday in the early 90s. Trevor Francis was in the penalty area, made a quick turn and then fell to the deck as if he had been shot. In general dives tend to work best if you have a player from the opposing team within a couple of yards of you so you can try to convince the ref that it was the other team's player who caused you to hit the deck.

Was that the game where a young Carlton Plamer strolled around asking Brentford players what they earned? I thought he looked a player but after hearing this I realised he was a w*nker.

Sir Gary Of Bliss against Fulscum at the Cottage for his goal, deliberate use of hand before scoring...

Anything against them is easily forgiven and defined as beautiful rather than cheating.

That was his first game for us, against Walsall even the Brentford players didn't know what the ref saw, but non the less we got the pen and won 5-0 lol

It was Barnsley and after a masterclass performnce to go 2-0 up, they pulled one back and we were bricking it. The pen made it 3-1 so it really was an important one at the time against a fellow promotion contender.

Tommy Wright. Ealing Road End.

Willock's comedy turn...

I think his first game for us was v Walsall, but that comical air shot that amazingly earned a penalty was v Barnsley in an otherwise richly deserved 3-1 victory.
One of the funniest incidents that I have seen at GP.lol

Barnsley were truly terrible that day - and their coach broke down on the way home (the bus, not the other one, though he may have broken down, too).

Cheating

Are you classed a bank robber if you get caught?

Yes, just not a very good one.

One R. Dickson can make a meal of going to ground sometimes. Bennett has a habit of falling down when his man has got away in a desperate attempt to convince the ref that he has been fouled.

Does McCammon or Murray Jones count purely on the basis they asked everyone to believe they were footballers?

Since I have been going (1985) I cannot recall any Bees player seriously cheating to the level that Henry did. Surely there must have been some dives and stuff but have we ever had a player stoop to that level?
We were cheated big time by Webb though! :nono: and that **** Biggar

When Stockport used to field Kevin Francis against us .. as he was nearly 7ft tall, that had to be cheating  :fishing:

and still they went up :(

DJ against Huddersfield, we'd already had Newman sent off wrongly but still gone 1-0 up so perhaps justice, but he got their keeper sent off by diving :nono:

Cheating

We've had a couple of goals disallowed against us when the ball has slipped under the side netting. The Trolley was one of them, and also one against Southend at GP in about 1970. Not exactly cheating by an individual though.

Unbelievable. Garry Moore header staright in past Gordon Phillips and out through a hole in the net and no-one noticed

You finally "retired" Beeby then ? :owusu:

MY threats last year whilst Chrimbo shopping with my kids seemed to do the biz. I'm surprised as he was earning a very good living, maybe juts maybe he realised he was sh*t.

Cheating

Got to be Garry Nelson diving and earning Plymouth a last minute penalty against us in 1985. I was reporting for The Recorder newspaper that day and if I'm not mistaken the ref that day was the same guy that sent off the old Wrexham and Wales keeper Dai Davies for complaining about a West Ham goal that was blatant handball (was on Match of the day about six years previous)

Cheating

Leon Knight in the first leg of the 2005/06 PO's at the Liberty Stadium, getting Stuart Nelson, is another one that springs to mind.

Cheating

Ben Hamer against Bury, I'm sure it was over the line :D

Cheating

and still they went up :(

I know and they've stayed up. I hope they come down, as I still don't think they deserve to be there. By far the worst ever team to get promoted out of this league.
