Whilst I kind of agree that if this new trial finds him not guilty he should be free to continue his chosen career my view is that he has morals lower than a snakes belly and I would not want him anywhere near my club.

As for his girlfriend if he is not guilty then at the very least he took advantage of a girl whilst she was inebriated and therefore he cheated on you and yet you still wish to stay with him. Wouldn't be anything to do with his earning power at that time would it?

They didn't sign him. So the planned profit they were going to make as and when his name was cleared won't materialise.

There are many, many industries and roles where your record would continue to bar you from employment and I think any club is quite within their rights to not take on someone if they feel that it's inappropriate. If he's exonerated though, that's a completely different matter.

The difference was that the first man was the one who was out with her earlier, and before the point where she was too out of it to make decisions. So it could be stated that she was still of a normal mindset when the conversation was leading 'that way'. He then slept with her once she was out of it but had soberly (enough) led it that way to a degree. Ched Evans however came in after she was beyond the point of control and slept with her without her probably knowing about it, she didn't say yes to him in a way she may have to the first guy.

Either way they're both utter tw*ts but there are differences between the two actions, even if both should be deplored.

I've avoided as far as possible, but one which I thought particularly charming on twitter was the suggestion that if he is acquitted on retrial he ought to be allowed to go and rape the girl as he'd done the time for a crime he hadn't committed. I don't think he went on to tweet that any of the Guildford 4 or Birmingham 6 who are still alive ought to now be allowed to go and bomb a few pubs but he might as well have.

The lady in evidence said that she remembered nothing after leaving the takeaway, does not even recall going to the hotel or having sex with anyone so she could not have consented to one and not the other.

I really don't believe debating the detail of a criminal case that is scheduled for (re) trial is a good idea.

There is plenty of material on the case out there in the big wide internet in order to educate yourselves.
