....all that supposes that JG was unaware that LR was getting the job and more importantly when he was likely to have found out that was the case...JG let Brentford down last summer...its as simple as that...

Did he let us down in the previous two seasons when we went on amazing cup runs and nearly got promoted?

That is irrelevant. If he failed as is being suggested to do any pre planning and obtain early recommendations on players that WOULD have been prepared to join us then that is not good enough.
It however doesn't mean the club should not have a Club Scout on the payroll at all as has also been suggested. It may well be time for JG to retire, but if fans believe that all a scout does is watch a couple of non league and club reserve games during the course of any month then imho they are mistaken. There is much more involved than that.

When was LR appointed and how many decent players had already been swallowed up elsewhere before LR was even in the job and therefore working with JG?
How many of JG recommendations joined other clubs?
FFS BFC were in turmoil last end of season and even if and it is an if as I don't know, but even if JG had planned well in advance all the following seasons targets, do you actually think many would have wanted to join?
Also planning well in advance means knowing well in advance what your budget is going to be, has that ever been the case at BFC?
Also if you look at any lower league clubs pre-season build up you will see most have lots of trialists and nomads. Its how football at our level has to work when very little money is available.

but we all know that Allen had left the club at least a month before it was announced (despite his telling us all that he would tell the fans first about any facts) and we all know that LR was JG's man. FFS - LR should not even have had an interview based on his CV (a relegation from League One and 2nd bottom of League Two when sacked far outweighs a promotion in my book).

so, JG knew Allen had gone and knew that he was going to get "his" man in. So, I don't buy the "all the good players had gone" line.

Not irrelevant at all IMHO. When looking to sack someone surely you should take in to account overall performance, not just one small period in someones career, when you don't even know what his involvement is in the signings we have made this season anyway.

Actually i've changed my mind, lets sack him on the basis of Brickie Chaps hunch that he is working at Brentford for the sole purpose of getting Bristol City promoted.

I have said that I do not believe that John Griffin works solely in the best interests of Brentford Football Club, nothing to do with getting Bristol City promoted. You will also find I have been critical of the close connection between Barry Fry and JG to name but one other area of concern.

Clearly we are never going to agree, so please carry on thinking all in the garden is wonderful and I'll have a different opinion.

You're wasting your time

Just as a thought
How many players that JG had identified for this year have now go on to play for or had trials at MK Donuts ?

Well what about the ones that were apparently going to sign but changed their mind. Is that JG's fault?

I will say it one more time I don't know whether JG tried to tie some better players up last summer or not. Do you?
However I am convinced many players would be put off by the turmoil the club was in and the small budget on offer.
I again would add that getting players down to live in London that are on salaries that they can earn at the likes of Yeovil, will likely choose the option that suits their financial requirements.

What has happened since Brentford were named in the 'bungs' investigation?
