disappointed for Chris. Some clubs don't seem to know what's best for them.

I really like Chris Hughton and think he’s done a great job in both getting Brighton up and keeping them up.
However, all managers have a shelf life and maybe he and Brighton will both benefit from a change.
Their recent form has been dreadful and it hasn’t shown any sign of improving so maybe he’s taken them as far as he can as at the moment I’d have them as nailed on to go down next season unless something changes drastically ?

Unfortunately I think that's harsh reality. On the basis that usually at least one promoted team stays up then Brighton would definitely be favourites for the drop next season. There is actually a big gap between them and the rest I would say

Not entirely surprised, never really been particularly inspired by his style of football. Think Brighton's ambitions are a little higher than just being a yo-yo club and you get the impression that that's what they'd end up with Hughton. They've now got a near 31k stadium and must be looking at establishing themselves in the premier league in the way that Burnley and bournemouth have managed..

:imwith: They have the fan base and stadium so need someone who has enough credibility and ambition to convince top players to join

Sky interviewed many so called experts in the game who all thought it a very poor decision to sack him although it was notable that all the Brighton fans interviewed seem to be OK with it. Inevitably when John Barnes was interviewed the decision got linked to diversity in the game but did anyone have a clue what he was on about?

Chris Hughton

I can actually understand the decision personally.

While he's no doubt done great things for the club over the past few years, ultimately they've only survived this season by the skin of their teeth. Not out of their own determination, more because they were fortunate enough to share the division with Huddersfield, Fulham and Cardiff.

You'd have to assume they'll probably be in a relegation scrap again next season, so why not bite the bullet now and try something new rather than sacking Hughton in November when they're hovering around the bottom 3.

The Brighton supporter I know was overjoyed at hearing he'd been sacked, as he had been calling for it for months.

He couldn't believe they were still playing defensively againt Man City, when they were already safe.

Think he did a good job in getting them to the Premier League however there is no doubt his tactics of defend, defend, defend ) not overly successful) has suggested he is not the long term answer

Seemingly the formation and tactics remained constant through the season and in the second half of the year I believe they were the worst performers and it was only the points cobbled together before Christmas that kept them up.

Bloom has pumped a load of money into the club and I doubt he wanted another season of mediocre football and worries about relegation

Yep a Brizzle supporting mate told me this when Lee Johnson was sacked - sadly they might be half decent next season if he gets the gig :(

Just seen the interview with him on ITV, now in the role as Technical Advisor with the Ghana FA until the end of the World Cup

Absolutely poisonous job, hope he’s going in with his eyes wide open - and even that won’t help him with the pathetic, corrupt jokers who run Ghana FA.

Chris Hughton

He’ll be managing QPR next

Fond memories of Chris as a player. Seemed a decent bloke. Management record is mixed, but am curious about Silly Esq's comment about Ghana. Can you expand, without exposing anyone to an action for libel?
