I feel sorry for this guy. Are Chelsea 3rd from bottom???....no, they are 5th from top with no games lost. Why all this Souness/Sven/Fergie crap then. Leave Claudio where he is. This man came over to England speaking little English, and has done a good job for Chlesea.
Roman has to understand that you can't buy the Premiership, , although he'll have a good go at it.
Ranieri must feel like a man on death row.....waiting for that day:sad:

After all that...I hope Chelsea do win the Premiership .
Better than those to**ers from oop North or boring Arsenal.

On topic, I share the view regarding Ranieri. He must be wondering what he has done to deserve the situation he finds himself in.

I thought Ranieri was great on MOTD for the Italy Wales game Saturday. It must be really difficult for him at the moment with all the money flying around at Chelsea he can't know whether he's coming or going.

As for Arsenal, I have to agree with Ed. No attack with Henry in it can be boring, but I'd still rather someone other than Arsenal or Man U won the prem this season.

Of course you can! The rest of this post isn't directed specifically at you, since you do seem to want Chelsea to win the league, but at the people who keep saying the above statement:

Saying things like that conjures up images of a team of kids who all went to the same school and played after-school football on the same park, signing for the same club and then winning the league with a mysterious hardworking teamwork ethic that no chequebook can ever match.

Although Abrahimovich is doing it much faster than Arsenal or Man United have done, he's making exactly the sort of buys that those clubs have made in the past and will do so again in the future. Arsenal's team is largely made up of expensive foreign players, and most of Man U's recent signings have followed the big chequebook approach rather than the canny bargain approach. Spending £30m on Ferdinand, £28 million on Veron, £8 million on Barthez, £19 million on Van Nistelrooy, I think it's pretty certain that you CAN buy the Premiership.

I'm not going to will Arsenal and Man United onto victory ahead of Chelsea this season, they're all as bad as one another, really.

There is stacks of hype with all this.

Ferguson has come out and said that Chelsea wanted him the summer, ties in nicely with talks of a new contract at Old Trafford. Chelsea are very quiet about it.

It apparently happened in the summer when the Roman first invaded. Now the dust has setled a bit, Chelsea are doing ok there has been no talk of a change of manager. I put all down to Sir Alex the Rednose Manager and his jedi mind games.

When England do badly and Sven goes or Chelsea are not in the top 3 at Christmas, there will be changes.

Not very often I'd agree with Alan Brazil but his piece in Sport First today was spot on. There is no pressure on the kind of money we are looking at at Chelski, the pressure is at the Brentfords, Notts Coounties and Oldhams of the football world, where just surviving another day/week/month is real pressure.

I feel sorry for Ranieri too. He is doing a good job, he has bought some fantastic players and probably the right players for the system he is trying to play.

They are winning games and scoring goals and yet his job is still under threat. Poor bugger.
