Confirmed leaks from BFC (split thread)

rebus said there was a leak but Greenholme Bee said there wasn't and anyway rebus was more leakier and hadn't raised any money but rebus didn't back down and Greenholme Bee got all upset and said he should and that rebus wanted to be a Director but wasn't and then Greenholme Bee quit the GPG and then ISB said mods are bad and some people agreed and that the GPG wasn't a laugh anymore and nobody knew anybody who liked it anyway.

rebus deleted all of ISBs posts and opened a new thread so that everyone could have a good old argue but then shut it.

In summary;

rebus wasn't wrong
Greenholme Bee got very precious
ISB blamed all the mods
It ended up all your fault

:wave:

I thought that's what happened

Not entirely true is it now?

What I saw as happening was;

Greenholme Bee said something about the PR - I can't even remember what it was that innocuous. Rebus leapt at Greenholme Bee being a leak of confidential information. They had a bit of a handbag fight over nothing very much. It was mentioned by myself and others that we didn't know what was going on because there didn't appear to be any leaks within the thread. Greenholme said goodbye and the thread was closed with no real explanation why.

Summary

Clearly an ongoing issue between 2 people. 1 a mod, 1 not.
Over-reaction pointed out
Thread closed without explanation

I thought that's what happened

It's all about interpretations. I may have leapt at it but leaks are very damaging for the club and Nick's hypocrisy (GPG passim) on the topic is there for all to see.

He has received confidential information on the Princess Royal. Unless you are also privy to what Nick has had passed onto him I'm not sure you are in a position to say whether it's "nothing very much". He admits receiving leaked information and then becomes the self-appointed arbiter of whether that information should be passed on. Incredible.

Leaking of sensitive information has been a serious problem for a while now and we are not talking transfer tittle-tattle. It has to be tackled. I have already stated by beef is not with Nick but the source itself.

Can we all hold hands and sing campfire songs please?

Personally I know that rebus has a point. I also think that people that wear two or more hats have to remember which one they are wearing when they delete posts on the GPG.

I also don't believe that Greenholme, on this occasion, "leaked" information on the GPG. However he made it obvious that he receives such information and admitted it, that is a valid concern of some on the BFC and BU boards. Greenholme has also in the past clearly leaked on the GPG and in TITS - however that is his job as a fanzine editor, I have no issues with that. We should all also remember that information has been the lifeblood of the GPG previously and now....

To sum up: As a BU director I am not happy that commercial details are being systematically leaked from one of our subsidiary companies; Greenholme is well within his rights to use information he receives as a fanzine editor from the players, manager, directors and staff of BFC; as a GPG administrator I don't believe this issue (and some others before) have been handled well and we need to sort that out; everyone needs to remember that the GPG is somewhere that people's immediate reactions are preserved forever.

With all these leaks, has our on loan keeper not got a contact who can fix them?

Just a thought- couldn't a lot of this have been sorted out via PMs?

:nono: that would prevent any opportunity for one upmanship and any massaging of ego's.
:sneakoff:
PS - I fully expect this post to be "preserved" by the GPG management!.

Shortest GPG flounce in history???

who did he say hello to? Still a goodbye as far as I'm concerned.

I also think it's pretty disgraceful if someone from GPG towers doesnt try and get in contact with him to smooth out the misundersandings, he's a good guy does an awful lot for Brentford and has done nothing wrong.

I acknowledge that Banana is upset with the source and not Greenholme himnself but it makes the GPG powers that be seem pretty callous if they just ignore him leaving and move on. I undersantand they cant contct eveyone who leaves to try and woo them back but he is the editor of the fanzine for goodness sake.

We're supposed to be bees united ....

Leave what or where exactly? GPG isn't a place. It's an internet message forum that Greenholme can acccess from anywhere he likes. If he chooses to of course. He hasn't 'left', there's nowhere to leave! Sorry wibs, can't agree with you. I don't see that it's the job of anyone at GPG Towers to go running up the road after him. Anyone who claims to have 'left' is just having a bit of a sulk in my opinion :shrug:.

I spoke with him on Saturday evening about it. I hope your disgrace is short-lived. :)
