Conor Devlin

[Beat Poet]

Was released by Man United last summer before his one month stint with us earlier this season and is still without a club. He continues to turn out for the Northern Ireland U21s though. Seems a shame his club career has stalled.

Signed for Cliftonville.

Good for him. Great beard. Could teach Dave Kitson a thing or two about taking pride in your gingerism.

Cliftonville won 3-1 at Ballymena tonight. Devlin scored the Ballymena goal.

Looks more like Adam Forshaw has gone in goal and seen Wigan through to a victory after their keeper's been sent off.

Cliftonville auctioned Conor's pink shirt after the game today and raised nearly £1000 for cancer charities.

That’s a bit of a change in ‘environment’. Not too many Devlins around in Larne

Larne have been taken over by a "Mini-Matthew Benham" (lived locally, boyhood fan, built up Purple Bricks).

He's rebuilding the ground and taking them full-time. As part of this, they're paying top dollar for that level, hence recruiting players like Devlin.

Tbh, neither he, the manager or the fans care who they sign, so long as they do the business.

Meanwhile, Devlin's departure from Cliftonville may not have been unconnected to rather serious rumours (not proven, I hasten to add) about his "private life" - I'll say no more.

Fighting in nightclubs doesn't help him, either: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-northern-ireland-28956568
