I was reminded of a Bees Game at Ashton Gate (we won 2-1 or 2-0) with a great goal from Rowlands in the Coppell season. During the second half about 8-10 Bees sang for at least 20 minutes without a break (Dave Lane's mob if I remember) the Danny Boxall - Flinstones song, with the rest of the travelling Bees occassionally joining in. It was a surreal thing to behold, even in quiet moments in the game and in the stands, this small group just not stopping!

I don't remember that but I do remember the game - 2-0 Bees, Owusu with a one-on-one after being put through by Sidwell and Rowlands scoring a cracking volley in off the post from an impossible angle.

Constant Singing

"We are Brentford, Super Brentford, Super Bees, We are Brentford, Super Brentford We are Brentford Super Bees"

For the whole of the 2nd half in a memorable game against Pompey 82/83 season. First time I'd heard this song, yet the whole of the Royal Oak knew it and were singing it, mind you not the hardest tune to learn.

Liverpool FA Cup.... stoopid Tony Gubba can you hear the Liverpool fans:rolleyes::rolleyes::sorted:

the same happened at Millwall's The 'Old' Den ground, Brentford sang for, IIRC, the entire second half! Early eighties IIRC.

I was in New Road for that game, about half way line four-ish rows back and it was my friend who basically got everyone chanting. Stood up on his chair and just started to chant shouting at people to join in and everyone one did!
Great memories!
And at the time he was a Chelsea fan can now say proudly he is a Bee :sorted:

Same thing happened away at Chesterfield (late 70's/early80's?) but also included the half time interval!

Seemed to be a regular thing back then I remember singing it throughout the 2nd Half at Blackburn in 1982 in the League Cup when we held them to a 0-0 despite Jim Mc Nichols blatent Handball on the line

Carlisle away Dec 2006.

non stop all through the game.

Mr Logan and his mates at Barrow never stopped. To be fair there was a siege mentality there and most went for it but Mr L's lot carried on at HT etc. We knew we couldn't be heard but like the band on the titantic.......the picture in the latest TITS reminded me.

Shrewsbury away last season was from start to finish.

Posh away started at 10.30 am and finished well into the following night.

Dont know if this counts but i just thought seeing as the thread is about singing, i had to mention Bournemouth away, half time, before after and during the game.

Constant Singing

"We are Brentford, Super Brentford, Super Bees, We are Brentford, Super Brentford We are Brentford Super Bees"

That used to go on for ever.

I remember singing it at PNE for an age, then suddenly we'd go close with a chance and it would stop only for it to start up again straight away.

Was that 1999/2000 when Mahon put us ahead after about 3 minutes, and then we went on to lose 2-1? I definitely remember that being a game where the singing was constant, even when we went 2-1 down. :)

I remember it seemed popular when we were losing, one year at Rotherham it went on for all of the 2nd half.

No it was a bit earlier than that.

Liverpool League Cup 82/83 I seem to recall "We are Brentford, super Brentford,..." for the entire second half despite losing that 2nd leg 4-0 (8-1 on agg).

A few years later on a lads holiday in Benidorm a young Liverpool fan who had clearly been impressed by our support that evening asked "do you always sing like mad? Even when you're getting stuffed? "

yep good shout, we had 900 up there despite being 4-1 down

Rotherham away in the early 80's think we lost 5-3 could have been last away game of the season lots of people getting chucked out but the singing went on for ages "We are Brentford super Bees"

I was there for that :sorted: Looking forward to the day I go back to Anfield and we don`t get stuffed 4-0

Swindon away in the FA cup, late 70's may early 80's lost 4-1 in pouring rain and a few dozen of us sang fnon stop or whole of the second half "Those were the days"

Carlisle away Dec 2006.

non stop all through the game.

That was great, 120 fans singing continously drowning out 6000 home fans.
'The football league is upside down',
'This is support, what is that (with aggresive pointing to silent home fans)'

1-1 Notts County away under Butcher had 30 of us singing Super Brentford for 20 minutes non-stop, with people dropping in and out. A few bees fans actually got upset when they tried to start different songs and got drowned out.
A County fan afterwards said that we'd pissed them off as we drowned out dozens of attempts by the home fans to sart songs.
If only Ealing Raod could be as acoustic friendly!

We did the same a few years before up there in the P-offs, in the rain. Non stop Barmy Army

The Sheffield Wednesday play off is still my favorite.
Even though we knew we'd lost, the great escape was going around the ground showing the appreciation for a great season from Allen and the lads.

I remember barnsley away on a tuesday night in 1980 , paul walker had just given us the lead and the 200 or so bees ( Including blondie , chris clapham and a few other well none faces ) sang super brentford for the rest of the first half , happy days :)

My Dad reminded me of one when we are at Southampton the other day - when we played them at the Dell in the League Cup in the mid 90s. Not quite constant, but we were brilliant that day. By half way through the first half we'd completely shut their crowd up, and it stayed that way even though we lost...

I was on the train that night and as it pulled into Hayes and Harlington station a fellow Bees fan lent out the window and started singing We Are Brentford Super Brentford, Super Bees.

Must have been about 2.30am.
