Copa del Rey

Mirandes knocked out Espanyol last night on away goals.
I have taken this report from their website via a Google translation.
Interesting read!

The Miranda has made history. In a match for the story, the team has exceeded pinko, in an epic, Espanyol, and reaches for the first time in its history the semifinal of the Cup of His Majesty the King.

The first half was very even, with both teams fighting for midfield and trying to obtain possession of the leather. The domain first few minutes were a visitor, but the best chance came pinko side, in an inmate of Alain whose shot went wide by little.

The reply gave Espanyol set pieces thrown away by a lack Romaric which diverted the barrier and was about to introduce a clean leather. That was all the baggage Pochettino offensive team throughout the first half.

Was gradually taking control Mirandés leather, and trying to move with fluidity and find some hole in the orderly behind Barcelona. Alain, very active throughout the first half, was the main stronghold of Pouso offensive, and who enjoyed the better chances, in auctions, unclear, after some dead-ball situation.

The second half started like the first, with the goal of Espanyol Nauzet looking, and this time found it. The box was Catalan, but Nauzet was right, the rebound falls to a player whitish area near the peak of the right and center Rui Fonte paddle, putting his leg behind and beating Nauzet Mujika.

The goal was a cold shower for Miranda, who for a few minutes seemed to acknowledge the point. But this team is great, and soon saw that he would not stop fighting.

The team took pinko leather and turned to blatantly attack. Pouso moved the bench taking the field and putting a Lambarri Garro, thereby sent a message to his players. It was 56 minutes, and one after both came the equalizer. Paul's solo run left, and his shot, after stumbling into a visitors' defense, was staying at the back of the net for Casilla. There was still half an hour and the comeback was at hand.

The team followed pinko thing, bottling increasingly Espanyol who saw them and wanted to ride the rush Reds. Alain had a couple of occasions, but his shot, loose both times, just in the hands of Casilla.

Borrell input and gave even more biting Muneta attack pinko, and the presence of Lambarri was a nightmare for the rear-white. For Pochettino team's only hope was a counter or a dead-ball situation. And one of them was about to sentence, after a stunning header from Romaric but Nauzet avoided both a sensational intervention.

And in the last minute frenzy. Lambarri was first, that after a sensational left to Alain, he faced but the goal box was correct. And when the appointed time the 92 minutes a kick from the right side of attack was to be the last chance. With all the pinko team in the area, including Nauzet, Paul dropped the fault, and the ball is halfway up a goal by Caesar topped Caneda, leading to the semifinals Miranda, Miranda de Ebro and all the madness.

Phew!!!:D

Copa del Rey

I watched some it on SKy last night during h/t of the Cardiff/Palace game. Would liked to have seen it through but not only was the C/CP an exciting affair I couldn't have sat through watching a match that had the worst of non-league camera postions. They seemed to have only one camera trained on the action throughout which was postioned somewhere in the middle of the crowd and about four rows back from the touchline, was a bit like watching a match at GP from a packed Brook Rd terrace. Replays were shown from the same angle and with no close ups.

Yes, I dipped in and out but found it unwatchable. The translation is great ("the team took pinko leather", "bottling Espanyol" etc)

Copa del Rey

Hopefully Real Madrid will be going out tonight as well.

Copa del Rey

Well, the final will be between the Brentford of La Liga and the Brentford lookalikes of La Liga.

Barça put paid to Real Madrid and Valencia in the last 2 rounds, while Athletic Bilbao swept aside plucky Mirandés 8-3 on aggregate.

They haven't decided the date or location yet. Bilbao fans seem to want it in the Camp Nou as it's the only stadium big enough for them all to get a ticket. The Bernabeu isn't available, and Mestalla was used last year. And Coldplay are playing the Calderón on one of the possible dates, if anyone's interested. Who knows?
