Crowd Behaviour

A bit late posting this I know but now I have a few spare moments I thought it worth a mention. As anyone would know who attend the game Chesterfield the game had to be halted for a few minutes, as a bottle was thrown in the direction of Nelson, and mini snickers bars were thrown on to the pitch from the Chesterfield end.

I thought this was slightly ironic as before the game I was talking to one of the ladies in the snack bar, and she said that Chesterfield were the only club in the league to allow bottle tops to stay on, as they trust them dearly.

I am disappointed to see that football is coming to this state, (especially when you are winning!). I personally think it is time clubs took stronger action to deter/prevent this from happening.

But saying that, some of the Brentford fans can't go without a mention as damage was caused to the stand where Brentford fans were sitting. I know the Chesterfield ground is not the best but thats not the point. And from over hearing one of the stewards, Brentford will be reported.

This is totally untrue, as I always take bottled drinks with me for every match and even yesterday, body searched and bag searched with two bottles in my bag, was allowed to take them in. At other matches, including Charlton away last season, this was the same and I have only ever been asked to take the tops off at Brentford

Well I am just quoting what she said.

Don't know on the bottle top things, I just try and avoid knocking it over when ever something exciting happens!!

What's sadder is that allegedly we've caused some damage to another teams ground. Why?:(

I really hate the increase in violence and trouble being seen at many lower league grounds and surrounding areas. Never in my years of watching football have I ever been filled with a desire to fight opposing fans - life is too short for that crap.

Now that I'm gonna become a dad, if this continues I would be reluctant to bring a young kid to a match, which is very sad....

In fairness I think you should explain your viewpoint and then let your child make their own choice otherwise they may resent you....It would be unfair to stop him/her if he was keen to go to the ground to fight opposing fans just because it doesn't appeal to you!

I'm mystified as to what possible damage we could have done to that ground on Saturday. Perhaps the damage caused by 200 fat blokes sitting on rotten wood for 2 hours is what's upset them.

What will Brentford be reported for and to who? I assume the club has all the evidence with witnesses etc?

Are Chesterfield being reported?

I sat back on a seat once and the thing broke, so people should be careful what accusations they make.

I never saw or heard of any damage being done by our fans, what damage exactly was done then??

199 fat blokes who were charged more and made to sit in a smelly wooden hut with a net above us that dropped it catchings of bird poo, feathers and other nice things whilst the away was bathed in glorious sunshine. Feel sorry for them.

They let my bottle of water through even though I reluctantly offered it up in the full expectation that it would be confiscated :)

Ditto, two bottles of sprite with tops ( ) moved out of the way to search underneath in my bag, no comment and allowed to take them in!

How could we damage that stand.

If they claimed on the insurance it would be written off

i had mine taken off me..

was searched prior to walking in the ground, and again before walking in the stand and it was the stand that took it away from me.

Not to sure on this bottle top thingy..

I mean some home games i'm giving the tops some i'm not ?

If they are thinking the bottles are going to be thrown at players and the lid on will make it easier to throw etc they arer wrong becasue if the lid is off the player still gets hit and gets soaking with coca-cola

... or the other spectators between you and the player get soaked with coke from the bottle flying over their heads

bottle and bottle tops

A hint, for easy living....

If you wish to take a drink into the ground, (a bottle of pop, for example), simply remove the top before the game and secret it (the top) about your person.

Replace the top, once in the ground.
