Current injuries

I know that Dobbo played in the game on Tuesday and so may be in line for a recall on Saturday, but we don't seem to have heard much about KO'C's injury lately - I would have expected him to be back by now, as it didn't seem to be a serious one. Does anyone have any up-to-date news on him or Lawrence who got injured at Luton?

Current injuries

Or Hunt for that matter

Current injuries

K'OC - still out with same injury
Hunt - due to play 1/2 a reserve game next week after no effects of tuesday's 25 mins
Lawrence - sounds like he may have played his last game as the injury seems pretty bad.

From speaking to some of the boys the other night I can you tell that 3 or 4 of our players are struggling to make Saturday.........
Does that include any or all of the players mentioned on this thread?

well weve got Sodje back, looks as though Dobbos gonna play .MA says Talbot is playing with injections.I think Hargreaves may be one other one to poss not make it ? If they cant make it a midfield of Rankin,Tabb ,Hutch ,Salako aint too bad

The four you propose in midfield are, individually, more than OK players, but, as a midfield unit, they don't really offer a lot of ball winning ability if Talbot and Hargreaves are both missing. So let's hope that at least one of the latter plays.

I think Hutch is capable of it, if his role as a ballwinner is spelled out for him. He played this role at QPR in the 'badge-kissing match' and did quite unbelievably well.

I agree that Hutch can certainly contribute to winning the ball (and I think that he's done REALLY well since his return from injury), but I feel that we really need at least one of Hargreaves or Talbot in central midfield to make us properly competitive (in terms of competing for the ball) in one of the most important areas on the field.

Having said that, if, as RitchBee says, all three may be struggling, then the line up on Saturday could be interesting, to say the least. Let's hope that at least two of them regain full (or almost full) fitness by then.

And they sold his shirt last night.................................. :fishing:

I've seen nothing recently about KO'C. He's been out for nearly a month now, and I was under the impression that he had a minor toe injury. A month seems a very long time for that. Any news, anyone?

Current injuries

BBC say Myers is injured, and we're down to 16 fit players, with Harrold and Peters called up (maybe they mean called back from loan/work-experience).

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_div_2/4175207.stm

Defence will be a headache again - Salako at left back? Interesting to see if Hutch keeps his place at home, where presumably we'll ditch the 4-5-1 and 3 central midfielders.

-------------Nelson--------------
Dobbo---Sodje----Turner---Salako
Rankin--Talbot--Hargreaves--Tabb
---------May---Burton-----------

Subs: Julian, Fitz, Hutch, Peters, Harrold (San Lee misses out)

Current injuries

I would expect Hutch instead of Talbot................. I'll add a smilie so that it looks like I've got "information" ;)

From looking at the BBC site, I see that Frampton is defo. out, which is disappointing, so I suspect that you're right about Salako, Matty - he would appear to be the only option.

As you say, it'll be interesting to see who plays in midfield, especially as we have 3 games in a week, and MA might want to rest Hargreaves and/or Talbot for at least one game. I suspect that Hutch has every chance of making the starting line-up.

The BBC site says that KO'C is defo. out, but I just wonder why have we heard no more about what seemed to be a minor injury at the time.

Like the look of that up_the_bees - Mourinho's Chelsea 'christmas tree', with Rankin and Tabb in the Robben/Duff roles - could work :sorted:

The Chelsea system does look good, but maybe too sexy for Brentford right now. I wonder if Martin may think that Salako / Tabby in a 4-4-2 down our left side is too weak defensively, so he may stick with 5 in midfield asused in the away games. Should be enough bodies to help Salako out at LB. This assumes Talbot, Hargreaves & Hutch are all fit to start.

---------------Nelson---------------

Dobbo----Sodje-----Turner-----Salako

Rankin--Hutch--Talbot--Hargreaves---May

---------------Burton---------------

Subs: Julian, Fitz, Tabb, Hunt, Harrold

Hunty back as a further spare left footer on the bench.

I suspct we will make 1 change, bringing in Salako for Myers.

We have solidity in the midfield with 3 in there, and they have all played well in recent weeks.

I'm not sure we will finish the game like that, but I think we may start it as such.

Current injuries

... but don't you think MA will rest Talbot for the 2 league matches before the FA Cup, as he did in the last round?

With 3 matches in 8 days, we must either pray for some of the injured to recover or rest some of the 'team that picks itself'. I expect some formation changes today and Tuesday, especially against Barnsley when all the Hartlepool spies will be watching.

It's difficult to understand how KO'C's "bruised foot" could keep him out for much longer; let's hope that MA realises that Dobbo needs high-speed cover against that Swindon loan winger.

As I intimated previously, I tend to think that Talbot will be rested today or Tuesday, but I'm not so sure that it'll be both - let's see.

As for KO'C - I agree entirely. I seem to recall that we were told that it was a fairly minor injury (toe?), so I'm astonished that he's still out. It would be nice to have an official update, at least.
