Cyprus Bees

So, after two glorious years in Hayes it's time to head onto pastures new.

Moving to the sunny island of Cyprus, which will mean I need to find some like-minded Bees to help stave off the Gtech-homesickness.

I'll be close to Limassol & may also be checking out the delightful Third Division side of APEA (Athlitiki Podosfairiki Enosi Akrotiriou/Akrotiri).

Anybody else on the island?

my mum lives in episkopi! I used to go to RAF Akrotiri and was allowed in the officers mess - that was as cool away from the infantry ?

she isn’t a bee though so doesn’t count

what village are you in or are you on the base ?

Just got back from Paphos yesterday.
I’m very envious, although the heat at the moment is absolutely crackers.
Paphos’ ground looks quite tidy, if small, and their club shop is bigger than ours!

When we were leaving yesterday it was 38 degrees.
I am considering moving out there when my daughter finishes Uni. It’s not as straightforward as before Brexit, but reasonably easy if you own property there worth over £250k. It’s only going to get hotter. I could see myself coming back to the UK for July and August.

I knew there’s a reason Mrs J booked October for us!

I'll be there for 3 weeks just in time to watch the Palace game from a bar

Absolutely love the place.

We used to stay in and around Polis... about 45 mins north of Paphos. There's a football club there but we never saw a game played...presumably because it was the closed season and too damned hot for sport.View attachment IMG_8113.jpeg

Been to Cyprus many times to stay with my friend and his wife in Chloraka just outside Paphos and have been to games at at Paphos FC where quite a few older pros seem to end their playing days...

Hopefully a good release. Good friend of mine spent a couple of years in Cyprus but the Middle East a lot quieter when he was there. Take care.
Cyprus is as safe as houses.
I feel more nervous walking anywhere in East London.

Thank you ? Definitely a busy place to be with all going on in the world, but it will be good to go and watch some footie with some cans of Keo to lighten the mood!

Not Cyprus it’s self but the sorties go from there over the Middle East by the RAF And others. Have no idea what Patto does, he probably can’t tell us, but the base is on high alert.

Hopefully he has time for some Keo's, olives, Hummus and Retsina. Take care Patto. Can't be worse than West Drayton/ Hayes - can it?
