3-0. CIV meet Egypt in the quarter finals.

Marrakesh tonight, Sheffield at the weekend?
Dango had another half chance in the second half. Decent flick at a cross forcing a save. He’d been thrown up the middle, having been wide right for the first half.
Still had very little to work with up there, but managed 100% of BFA’s efforts that worked the GK.

Hopefully we laid on a private jet for him and he's 'home' already!

Really annoying that Afcon is played every two years and during the European season, where virtually all the players are based. Feel the same about Dango as I used to about Bryan. Just want them eliminated asap so they stay fresh and injury free. Not sure Dango will start on Saturday after all that travel, but good option off the bench.

It's moving to Summer from now on.

Dango Ouattara

He's been undertaking what I assume to be light training, played 2 of their games, I believe, and then sitting around with a life of luxury in hotels with pools etc.

Get back and ready for Sheffield Wed
Agreed. There’s no midweek game after that and I don’t imagine he’ll go straight back into the side at Chelsea given how we’ve been playing so what would we be resting him for?

Dango Ouattara

Next Premier League game is on the 17th.
He could be on a plan back to London today.
Have a full week off.
Would be completely fresh and match-fit for training for the 3 days before the game.

Dango Ouattara

Completely forgot he played some of his best football for bournemouth as the 9 with Evanilson out. Once he's back in rotation, we should be able to rest Igor in the later stages of games more.

Why will he be in light training out there?

I suspect a sub on Saturday. We'll see.

I assume the training for international games is more tactical with less focus on high intensity fitness. However, I obviously know f*** all about this or the facts

Dango Ouattara

with us scoring 8 in last 3 games, are we certain he just gets back in?

He’s a handful for defenders yes, but it sets a good precedence to say ‘show us why you should start’. Right now, I’m not sure he does
Absolutely.... No one is guaranteed a place in the starting 11 right now

I'd probably put him in...but I'd consider:
Hendo for Yarmo to give the latter a rest.
Dango for Jensen.
But if Dams is looking like he needs a rest play Jensen.
If both are looking fresh then tell Dams to play full pelt for as long as he can (with the expectation of getting a rest and Jensen coming on at 60 mins or so).

Absolutely not! Second half against Wolves, first half against Bournemouth and both halves against Everton, we have looked the best (most cohesive) we have been all season in the final third.

Let's see how things turn out this evening, but while I think he might start Saturday, I would not be surprised if he started on the bench against Chelsea.

Dango Ouattara

Will have to work hard and push himself in training to start games.
Think he might be competing with Damsgaard and Jensen right now. We saw at Everton that the way to get them both in the team is to have 2 10s instead of a RW. If they're all match fit and playing at their peak, which 2 play out of them and Ouattara becomes a tactical question.

Igor's laughing either way, either he's got an extra creator behind him or he has Ouattara winning him pens!

Dango Ouattara

Not sure he goes straight back into the team either. Thiago and Schade have both been better, as a pair if not individually, with KLP in the team. KA has also shown that starting places are learnt when coming back to the team, rather than straight into the XI on return

Dango Ouattara

I think pretty soon he goes back to right mid, right forward as part of that front three

Dango Ouattara

Has he been spotted back at Jersey Road yet??!! 👀

Keith seems to have morphed the formation into a version of 4-4-2, yesterday with Lewis-Potter in a sort-of inside right position, defending in midfield when out of possession and advancing with freedom when attacking; then Damsgaard replacing him in that role.

It will be interesting to see how Ouattara is used when he’s back on the pitch.

Arguably gives us a lot more attacking depth off the bench, and arguably shifts our transfer priority for January from needing another attacker in to another midfielder.

It was more the subtle change in positioning/formation that I was thinking of – will Ouattara be used similarly or in a flatter front 3?

We know Dango’s playing attributes and we knew he would be away at AFCON, so I’m not sure we’d be shifting transfer targets with the window open; all the work with player agents would've be started before the window opened, probably more focused on contributors next season on.

Dango Ouattara

If I were him I'd be absolutely chewing Keith's ear off for a start on Saturday. Not sure when his next one will come.
Dango won't be playing Saturday. Keith says he needs more time to recover.

Dango Ouattara

What language did you think he spoke ?

Not sure if it's only me but that has horrible American dubbing!
Same for me. I am finding it almost unwatchable because

a) the American accent is completely out of context
b) It is a significant mismatch from the subtitles
c) It destroys all the nuance. I'd get more from hearing him speak French and reading the subs

You can change it in the settings, if you watch it on Youtube, rather than embedded here.

Dango Ouattara

The original video doesn't have an American accent.

If you go to the bottom right of the YouTube video, click settings, then Audio Track, you can either have the American dub or the French original.

Yes. A total mish mash. I was thinking “why does his American need subtitles (that are too small to read)?”. He laughs a lot and seems happy to be here.
Our media mob have improved, and have done some good and entertaining stuff, but this one isn’t.

Dango Ouattara

I was losing my mind at the US voiceover and had to switch my auto dubbing off. Jesus YouTube don't you dare do that again

Dango Ouattara

Yeah, it was dubbed into American when I watched it, but you can change the settings to get the original French. (NB - do Americans call training, "science"?)
Yes, that was very odd.
