I agree he is one of us and needs support. I remember the West Stand supporting Saka after miss England miss and we need to assist him getting over this disappointment for all of us including him.

He did seem to stand there forever. All the West Ham fans behind the goal were waving their arms and booing. I thought he was probably nervous and trying to compose himself.

By contrast, most of the West Ham players came up and smashed the ball into the net off the right hand post.

He sat down and didnt watch the penalties, after said he had an injury or some crap (yet played 120 minutes)

We obviously have quite a stage in our first game against Arsenal on TV. Considering what Saka has been through it would be nice for us Bees fans to show our solidarity (before we trounce Arsenal and go top of the Prem). A proper applause when he makes his first touch?

Think Andrews was classy in his public defence of Dango, but the sentiment doesn’t totally add up! It was definitely misguided given the situation, and it doesn’t feel very Brentford to indulge in Paneka style penalties!

I suspect he won’t do it again in a hurry, but I would also hope that Andrew’s also pulled him up on it alitttke in private!

That is just evil stuff to give abuse like that. There was an article about the horrible increase in racist abuse recently towards players and link with betting losses. I really hope no Brentford supporter would even dream of doing stuff like that

I have never forgiven Trotta, especially as he refused to give the ball to Kevin O’Connor to take the penalty, and then go and miss

Everyone knows it was daft, but everyone has done something silly at some point.

I was watching it whilst the wife was watching TV, my first reaction was to drop the phone on the couch, exasperated and say. I don’t believe it, he’s tried to do a panelka and dinked it straight to the keeper, oh FFS, what a stupid thing to do.

At no point did it cross my mind to say, he’s a ****, he a w***er, he is a f***ing *****, he should walk home, I hope his team mates pile into him and the manager screams his face of at him and a whole load of other b***ocks.

In fact, I utterly despise people who pile into their own players instantly on any mistake with vile personal abuse and call them names I would only ever reserve for referees and oppo players.

What is even more mind boggling is some of the people abusing one of their own are the same ones who defended Sam Sodje who took money to deliberately lose games for Brentford, utterly unforgivable. And a bloke who gives everything, is honest as the day is long but makes a mistake is called a **** .

Mind f***ing boggles.

He’ll be instrumental in us all booking our tickets for the Nou Camp next season.

To be fair, when Brentford lose I blame the ref or the cheating opposition, you would find it hard in 30 years of posting to find many posts where I go to town on our players. If some are not good enough I have pointed it out, but never in an abusive fashion, more of a, they try their best but we need better kind of way. Fiercely defensive of our team and players and that is why anyone who rounds on them for making mistakes or not being good enough can get to fukk as far as I am concerned.

Effectively no professional footballer of PL standard should ever miss a penalty. Twelve yards with a keeper to beat who cannot dive before the ball is kicked should be straightforward. Just have to place it with sufficient power. Every week though many are missed because the stress and expectation gets the better of them. It happens to the best of them and we shouldn't slate them when it's one of our own however they decide to take it. A groan or a ffs is permissible abuse isn't !

100%, it is the foul name calling that gets me, how can someone turn so quickly on their own, especially someone who has scored to win two of the biggest games in history in the last couple of weeks.

Played 120 minutes, physically and mentally drained.

You could tell how long he took to take his run up after the ref blew the whistle he was shot to bits.

Just had a brain fart, it happens, move on.

Hopefully tears Wolves a new one on Monday night.
