Just announced he is selling his 33% share of the club on his weekly podcast so will not be involved anymore and will concentrate on his kids education back in America.Have listened to his podcast over the last years and although he can come across as a bit of a gobshite he give a good insight in running a football club and if Posh don’t go up this season they will be in div 2 very soon.Barry Fry won’t be
around much longer he won the pools the day MacAnthony bought the club.

I’ve always found that MacAnthony talks a deal of good sense. I could just never understand why he seemed to place so much trust in someone like Barry Fry.

DM has mellowed and far more reasonable and measured now and Barry Fry, love him or hate him knows football inside out at that level that McDarragh didn’t.
I think Fry is happy to play the panto villain but he’s been in the game as a player, manager, owner and consultant since the 60’s.

Thats a shame for them. Really had a knack for finding the odd gem or rough diamond. Watched with meek admiration when we were scrapping down and still have respect for them now. They have potential star in Ronnie Edwards so theyve been consistent

Enjoyed listening to a few episodes of his podcast and some of the insight he has provided. Total opposite to benham personality wise but i think Peterborough have been lucky to have an owner so willing to engage, even if some of his engagement is quite confrontational.

Getting relegated last season must have made him realise that there is just no competing now with some teams even in the Championship. The doing it ‘the Brentford way’ isn’t as easy as people think.

- Says we will owe them an additional £100,000 if Toney scores one more goal

- Suggests (half-joking) that we could get 4th on current form

- Says Benham (along with Bloom at Brighton) is the best owner in the country

- Says he appreciates how we’ve dealt with them as a club. He told a story: an appearance related add-on was close to being met for Ivan Toney, and due to their own financial troubles at Peterborough, they were nervously waiting for the clause to be met and then the standard 60 days payment term to complete. Barry Fry rang us to see if we could do anything to bring the payment forward - and we did it within a day no problem.

- He also mentions how he feels Rasmus backed the wrong guy in Nathan Jones at Southampton

Just goes to show what a decent club we are. And what a thoroughly decent owner we have. If more people in business and sport had this attitude there would be less problems. I remember when Ipswich took Paul Lambert from Colchester a few years ago after that 1-7 home defeat, Ipswich still hadn’t settled compensation with Colchester by the time the return fixture came about.

Was a really good listen. Very straight talking. The reference about Brentford starts around the 30 min mark. Interesting when he made the point that Nathan Jones failed also at Stoke and only been a success at Luton and not sure where he goes from here now. He will probably end up in a less fancied Championship club.
