David Beckham

I have noticed David Beckham seems to be returning to his old self recently of retaliating and loosing his temper, they commented on this on talk sport. Against west brom running 30 yards to confront derek mcInnes after he was sent off, squaring up against imbrahimovic and some boca juniors player too. watch out for beckhams behaviour i think he may have lost his cool head.

He does however score and get more on target than the over hyped Roberto Carlos, who score a terrific goal every 4 years!!
All other free kicks are wellied out the ground.

I noticed the old David Beckham petulance creeping back into last nights Euro Cup game, where he confronted a player every time he was tackled. It's good to show passion, but lets hope he keeps it to the verbals.

He has been under a bit of pressure over the last month or so with Fergie questioning his fitness and application... indeed, the pressure is on the whole Man U side this season as they set out to prove that they're not just in for the money and still have a craving for trophies.

And how anyone can question his ability is beyond me. He may not be able to take players on, or have any pace, but he's the best at what he does - creating goals. Giggs does the running and the fancy footwork, Beckham does the rest... end of. Why else would every single club in the world want Beckham in their side?

David Beckham

Who cares?

He's our country's captain. He has matured beyond belief in recent years and can do little wrong in my eyes.

The rest of the Man U players are all c@nts though!:)

Totally agree. He needs to be taken out and SLAPPED.

At one point during the World Cup Rivaldo had scored in every game up to that point and the result of the game in question was safe (can't remember which one it was), and Carlos still wouldn't let Rivaldo take any of the free-kicks. Did Carlos score any? Did he ********. You wouldn't believe how many broken seats there are in the Bernabeu :)

oooh no, here's hoping he gets sent off sometime very soon for something very petulant, maybe knock him back into shape a bit :D

he is class, but he doesn't show it enough - loadsa fluffed free-kicks, watched the chelsea game last week and he hardly hit a decent cross (best crosser in the world? pah, gimme dobbo anyday :D) and i had to wait ages for him to actually pass to someone on his own team (i think it was his first 8 or 9 went straight to chelsea players) - seriously, try it sometime, u might realise that he's not as good as The Sun tells you he is :)

David Beckham

Anyone who was unable to perform for his club properly for months (especially Man U) because he exhausted himself almost single-handedly getting England into the World Cup is ok by me!

David Beckham

Beckham is still the only world class midfield player we have in England. He captains his country with pride, courage and dedication. Sure he can be fiery but that is his passion and commitment shining through.

Whilst David Beckham is giving 100% for his country, he is alright by me.

Dan - I don't listen to what The Sun tells me about David Beckham. I watch him give everything for his country in every game he plays and let that form my judgement.
You might have a different view but let me ask you a question -

Name an England player over the last 12 months that has done more for his country.

Steven Gerrard?

Keiron Dyer?

Paul Scholes?

Scholes has had a shocking last 12 months.

Dyer isn't in the same class.

Gerrard will go on to be one the greats but needs to spend more time on the football pitch than the physio table

I strongly believe that there are only 3 england players that other international teams would really want:

Beckham
Ferdinand
Owen

Rest are average players with no skill. And yes I know that Sol got into that world cup XI...maybe he comes a close 4th.

Having said that, I think Beckham is totally overated (especially by the papers). I'll let him off though, cos of his goals against greece and argentina (shove that baaaaaadiff).

That's a very hard one to call, would Brazil want Owen instead of Rivaldo and Ronaldo? Would Portugal rather have Figo?
If you are saying that these are England's best players there is no doubt you are correct but not everything is black and white.

I believe Gerrard COULD go on to be one of the best midfield players in the World, but needs to stay continously fit for a long period.

Scholes has gone backwards in the last year, maybe 18 months and, personally, I think that is purely down to Alex Ferguson.

David Beckham

It's difficult to judge how any player would fit into a different team, but i think those players would make practically all international teams..even if they were playing out of position very slightly.

I can see where your coming from West Ealing Bee, but I think you understood what i meant anyway. ;)

definitely agree, the kid is class (and still only 22??!!)

Guildford Bee - amen to that!

Mikey Bee - for the Greece game alone Beckham was the best player for England last year. if only he played like that more than 5 times a season. loved his fake hobbling off in the 92nd minute yesterday, he looked well devoted to the cause :D

Romeo Beckham got his first chance to play for Man Utd so he asked his Dad what number he should wear.

David Beckham

wow, even the Sun's noticed, that's gonna confuse a lot of people!!

"David Beckham, for all his endeavour, once again failed to have any impact on the game" - well, not quite true actually, was it :D his impact was quite significant for bolton anyway!! :D:D

David Beckham
