That was over quickly....

If Haye fights Joshua this year it could be interesting. If the fight happens in 18months then Joshua will have probably improved and will probably win. Haye v Fury probably unlikely to happen unless Fury beats Klitschko and Haye picks up one of the other belts from somewhere?

I think Fury is too quick for Joshua. Probably get frustrated at not being able to land the big shots and would get outpointed comfortably.

When Joshua has had a proper professional fight then that statement might be worth thinking about. As it happens I think Fury would make it very difficult for Joshua and at this present time would win on points.

The Haye fight last night was a joke, proved absolutely nothing except that he can still knock out 2nd rate journeymen.

I don't get this Fury nonsense...i know he won the title but he won it in a fight between 2 average heavies.
Klitchko was only dominant because the division is pants.

Haye would give Joshua some problems if the fight takes place this year.

Fighting fury ...although it pains me Fury would win just down to size on a dull points decision.

Not really they are all average to be honest. Fury just has size which makes him difficult to get at.

I grew up in the Holmes Tyson Era these guys would have been s routine defence for them.

Sort of. Tyson and Holmes suffered from the same problem as Wlad. A poor list of challengers. What we say about the likes of Klitschko is exactly what people said of Holmes. He wasn't Ali.

As for Tyson, how much better that Wladimir would you say that Tony Tucker, Bonecrusher, Trevor Berbick and a 37 year old Larry Holmes were? Tyson peaked early (for various reasons) and the division was is something of a Nadir (Mike Weaver and Gerrie Coetzee helt titles) His bigger challenges (Holyfield and Lewis) came after.

Don't think Joshua will want to fight Haye this year, might have to be another guy that wants to stand in the naughty corner for 3 minutes for Haye.
Disgraceful by bet365 not paying out for people that had Haye in 1st as they had their odds spread over 12 rounds in error.

I know it is part of the game but boxers always make me cringe when they talk themselves up, I just can't stand listening to them as they give no respect to others and go on about how fit, strong and brilliant they are. I just see it as pantomime and surely every body does so it serves no purpose. However no matter how annoying I always get behind British fighters even Eubank and Prince Naseem although Khan did push it a bit.

But having just said that does anybody else really hate Tyson Fury? The way he talks and acts, I just can't watch or listen to him, I know it is all boxing bluff and banter but I really dislike the bloke and for the first time ever would like to see a British fighter lose. Is that wrong of me?

Thats sort of why Klitschko was unbeaten for so long, was a good technical boxer and just used his height and reach advantage to control fights against smaller opponents.
Then along came Fury, although he is a poorer boxer, used his height and reach advantage to win.
It will take a different type of boxer (or someone 7' 3") to beat him

personally i can't stand Haye at all (this is the Haye thread, and there is a general Boxing one somewhere...) - think it's pretty pathetic how he tries to make out that he's "relevant" these days. you had your chance and you squandered it, pathetically...

i think Fury's great. cringeworthy at times, but can't deny he brought it when it mattered. he clearly worked his ass off and performed fantastically in beating Klitschko.

Hold on, haye was a world champion. Lost to a younger Klitschko's than what fury beat.

Who has Haye really beaten down the years to have such a high opinion of himself though?

Valuev I will just about give him as he had such a height and reach disadvantage but the fact is he was a bum,albeit a giant one.Beating up on Audley Harrison and Dereck Chisora hardly makes him a great either,and although he was impressive against Ruiz in his first defence JR was over the hill by then (and wasn't that good to begin with).

I like Fury.Not the brightest but says it how it is and,at the end of the day,actually backed his talk against someone who was considered unbeatable in his own backyard.

Give him a break.

There is a decent pool of British Heavyweights which could include Fury, Joshua, Haye, Price, Chisora & Whyte.
I still rate Haye as he can clearly BANG. I can see another fight against world class opposition and then a possible title shot for Haye.
Don't rule out Whyte as he showed that he can take punishment.
There are some cracking domestic fights to be had and the American Wilder who can also BANG will surely mix it with some of ours.
