Fair credit to the bloke.Had an option to take the easy route in the dire SPL with Celtic for more money but stayed closer to home.

Comes across as not your typical cocky premiership type and probably because he has his srewed on and is a bit older.

I think he has been a credit to the game and good luck to Coppell next season.

I always think he comes across as a breath of fresh air and fair play to him for putting his family first.

He'll be looking for a managerial role soon and Muff maybe a good option in the near future as he still has house in the area.

Spot on. He's also an extremely learned and articulate individual which also isn't something normally associated with your average footballer. Have been lucky enough to meet him on a couple of occasions, once simply by chance on holiday and he's as decent a guy in real life as he comes across as in interviews.

He will be a good signing for them. Probably more off the pitch than on it. You wouldn't see most players dropping down the leagues. At least he is giving something back.

Some locals, here in Bournemouth, tell me that his contract had a clause stating that he was first choice for any league games. Evidently EH didn't like that idea and hence the move away.

Lucky Ashely Bayes never had a similar contract clause when he was with us!;)

According to the club he was released due to financial issues and the club having a huge wage bill. This followed redundancies behind the scenes last week including their version of Peter G! They claim there is no cash crisis. I wonder if the Russian has grown bored of his play thing, as his hotel has not been built.

There is more to it, there must be.
I was quite envious at how sorted this intelligent, green loving monster seemed to be, I always felt he went through hell at Anfield and came out of it a really rounded and comfortable individual, I'm shocked.

Thought I read he sold his own paintings for up to a couple thousand, ditched the flash motors years ago and lives modestly.
