Surprised there wasn't a thread about this maestro. He's currently at Lanreath, who play their football in the East Cornwall Premier.

i ilked McGhee.A game ****,didnt mind getting stuck in,put his head in where it hurt,always a place for a player like him.If you pointed at a danger man on the opposition,he'd rattle them up !

Was originally from Cornwall so not surprised he went back there. I thought he was about as good as Gus Hurdle to be honest. Gutted when I saw he was in the team to play Crewe@Wembley.

Remember him playing at Hull when he won a free kick which Granger hammered in for the winner.

Funnily enough I thought about him at the weekend following on from a conversation I had indoors about Sudbury, Suffolk

He played up front in the PO final against Crewe and was dog sh#t .

sh*t. Only just seen the news on his illness and op. Although not the most skillful, was always a battler on the pitch so hopefully he'll beat this.

I don’t know why but reading the Dobbo thread got me thinking about David McGhee - another local* lad breaking into the first team at a young age. 124 appearances for us according to Wiki.

Hadn’t realised he’d been ill some years ago. Hope he’s doing alright.

*edit: I always thought he went to school in Isleworth but possibly not?

Did a bit of Facebook stalking and his son, Callum also plays/played for Lanreath. There’s a couple of photos on Facebook featuring David and he didn’t look too well at all. That was back in 2015….
