He left the child for dead and didnt stop. What rights should a **** like that have?

Dean Wells

Yet a few lads having a punch up warrant longer jail time. You couldnt make it up.

Dean Wells

Its a grudge going back sometime and believe me, Orient have proved to be proper sly ****s on more than one occasion. Its been coming a long time. Venue was silly though.

Always going to be like that when you let vermin like Spurs run with you.

Dean Wells

To be frank Nick, I can comment on what I see fit. I'm just surprised someone starts a thread on what a top bloke someone is and then reveals to all and sundry he is serving a prison sentence. I know this information is in the public domain but found it odd, that's all.

Stop using posters names.
What's wrong with you.

Dean Wells

I've finished mine, I did a cashmere 10 year old and called her angela and if there's time I'm going to knit a little french boy out of angora and call him Pascal. [castoffpearloneknitonesmiley]

don't forget to leave a bum hole for you to poke !

Dean Wells

Loads of moo-moos commenting on matters they dont know about. Stick to kniting children and worrying about the players laughing at you behind your backs on Twitter.

With all due respect,i will be the judge on wether I can comment on football hooliganism

Dean Wells

As I said, moo-moos shouldnt comment on matters they either dont understand or have real knowledge of

Is Football Hooliganism something that you need qualifications for then?
Horsham had every right to comment, surely? :

Dean Wells

Really? And you think I dont? How misguided you are.Seen enough in my lifetime to comment on this subject and knew a few that got well involved. So if I want to comment,i will.

Dean Wells

I reckon there are possibly two posters, perhaps three, that have seen the CCTV on this thread, and the same with knowledge that is more than what the press have printed. Carry on posting though, you carry the mark of moo-moos well.

Did the judge see the CCTV footage too?

Yep, plod do a good job at these trails with their selective offerings. Nevermind, probably close to 100 or so football fans sent to jail in the London area so far this year.

As I said, venue was silly but the sentances hardly fit the crime given what happens in court generally these days.

That's how our adversarial criminal justice system works.

Of course there will always be contentious decisions and various degrees of guilt. However, handing the prosecution evidence on a plate by performing on CCTV in Liverpool St station is moronic. You deserve what you get in those cases. I'd imagine the location was chosen to achieve notoriety. I can't say that I am surprised by the sentence given that violent disorder took place in an area where families would have been and could well have got injured.

Dean Wells

Or there is a minimum sentance tariff for football trails, which I think you'll find is the case. Hence the nonsense re the Chelsea vs Cardiff game, with blokes getting sent down for being on a street, in some cases.

Shame we dont punish repeat offenders with such conviction, rather than a slap on the wrist.

Dean Wells

You dont believe that jail sentances have been passed down in cases where no objects were thrown or punches traded, thats fine, although you are mistaken.

So one guy was sitting quietly drinking his cappuccino outside Starbucks reading his Sunday Times and got sent down did he? Suggest you stop employing the "omission" tactics you slate the old bill for.

Dean Wells

No, I didnt say that now did I. Carry on making things up though.

Couple of points the Police HAVE to give all their evidence to the defence, therefore surely the defence could have shown the bits the Police cut ?
I have lived long enough to go through the real football violence that used to take place- I could not understand it then and as older even less now
I see no pleasure fun or satisfaction in trying to physically hurt anyone- let alone running around in mobs scaring uninvolved and totally innocent people be that in Parks or streets and in its own way worse a station where people could easily be barged onto the track.
And before some smarta*se says it I know Liverpool street is a terminus.
Making snide comments about go back to knitting is a type of bullying anyone who might disagree is told just to shut up.
Are they really football fans or just going round looking for any excuse for a punch up

Dean Wells

Yep, the police have to hand over all the evidence, which they can satisfy by doing on the day of the trail. They also tend to stop providing copies of the CCTV these days, so you may only be allowed to view at their convenience, at a location of their choosing. However their defence to this, is too much finds its way onto YouTube.

Dean Wells

Sorry but I missed your point re all the CCTV, do you honestly believe that? The Met are infamous for their selective editing, or simply admiting that parts of the coverage couldnt be found. When you consider the behaviour of certain FIO's, brassing overseas rather than watching the so called thugs they are being paid to monitor, nothing should surprise you. Football is largely a jolly up, paying handsome overtime, to them.

Dean Wells

I think bullying comes in lots of forms. The liberally minded seem to have a particular brand of intellectual bullying which they reinforce with sanctimonious pontification.

I think the point 'brickie chap' is trying to establish is that when an offence is 'football' related the punishment meted out is usually not equal to a similar offence committed in a 'non-football' environment. I would have thought that is self evident and is a valid point for discussion within a football forum. As football fans we regularly enter into environments where events are outside our control - and can unwittingly end up in situations we would not chose to be in. This should be a matter of concern for all football fans.

For example, as a law abiding football fan I am not interested in football violence. However, if randomly attacked (which is quite possible, as occurred most recently at the Huddersfield game) I will defend myself and have an excellent chance of giving as good as I get. I am aware that should this happen I stand a better than evens chance of being convicted of involvement in 'football violence'.

I fully accept that an organised fight as in this case does not fit into this category. This is gang violence and nothing else and should be dealt with as such, without the additional aggravating factor of being 'football related'.

And anyone who feels that the police always investigate matters impartially, and consistently fulfil the evidence rules as required, clearly doesn't have much interaction with them!

Dean Wells

thought we werent chatting about this on here.... close please!

Dean Wells

I am just glad he was no longer a brentford player when he was caught as I would hate to have that thuggish behaviour linked to a player at our club.

The bloke must be nearly 30 years old, a very respected semi pro footballer but he is brawling in the streets at arranged football hooligan fights. He gets what he deserves. Does this "top bloke" have a brain?

Anyone who thinks football violence is good is a *****. If he had got in a fight in a pub then you can see alchahol and other mitigating circumstances as a bit of an excuse, if it is pre-arranged football violence then you are not the full ticket expecially as you are being paid to play the game.

Dean Wells

Whether you agree or disagree with the sentance passed down by the Judge, you can't argue that it was a surprise. It's well known that any violence or fighting associated with football means you get the book thrown at you. They would of have known this and have to take the consequences for their actions. I had to.

TBH they deserve to go to jail for just being so thick and stupid to do what they did, where they did. Tough lesson, but hopefully they'll learn from it.

Dean Wells

I have a little experience of this and as soon as Football and violence are connected the tariff goes off the scale .

I think you'll find that the stiffness of the sentence is related in part to the fact that this was a planned brawl.
That makes it/him more 'hardcore' than someone who just loses their temper.
What did Joey Barton get? Mind you, he had previous.

Dean Wells

I imagine the OB were gunning for Joel Titus. He was usually involved or in the know and had just had that NOTW expose of his EDL links.
I met him and a few West Ham EDL lads at the Millwall away game and individually they seemed like decent blokes. Obviously I've not been on the receiving end of a kicking by them and the EDL doesn't float my boat politically.
As others have said it was a few 'faces', some with certain political links, at a pre-planned brawl in one of London's most public of places, at tea time on a weekend. They're going to throw the book at you and make an example.
I wander why Dean Wells got the longest stretch though, was it because he was one of the eldest in the group?
I take it from the Brentford to Orient conviction ratio that we won, you reeeeeeeeddddds!

If they are thick then they won't learn from it.

Dean Wells

Typical BFC doesn`t even have any decent hooligans. To have an organised off at Liverpool St shows they don`t want to go up and are happy to go down.

Dean Wells

Just imagine if he had been wearing a big yellow cheese hat, the sentence would have been double !!! ;-)

Dean Wells

Pre arranged football fight in the middle of a huge capital city, at a station known to be heavily monitored due to terrorism, with thousands of public eyes watching. Im sure there all wonderful gentleman but they are all so clearly thick as sh1t!!!!!!! Lets face it he probably is a nice bloke but is he is going to behave like a **** then thats whats gonna happen!!! The judge would have looked at the fact Bees were at home that day and that GP is no where near Liverpool Street!!!! IMHO there morons, fair enough around the ground there can sumtimes be a little scrap but thats not pre meditated and is always gonna happen with passions sumtimes running high but what these lot have done is thick and a joke!!!
