Reading in the paper that Windarse my bee going out on loan in the new year as he does not feature in Hull games at the mo....bee a good loan if we could afford him IMHO....:sorted:

Dean Windass

Sure would be a good loan deal for us, but doubt if we could afford his wages, especially as Hull are in the Premiership.

Dean Windass

No chance. He'll go to some northern League 1 club.

Tell you what if we got Windass then we definately be promoted the man is too good for League 2 ..................still, anyway i would reckon Sadford would be top of the queue if he were gonna drop this low:sad::sad:

To get out of this league you need players who are too good for it.....:sorted:

Dean Windass

Leeds or Doncaster want him. So no chance.

Dean Windass

What about him going back to Bradford i reckon they could afford him with there crowds.

Dean Windass

I heard on Radio 5 Live last weekend he's going out on loan - they did mention a Club ..think it was Leeds

Dean Windass

Dean Windass

what's the most southern team he's played for? He's not going to move down south for us.

Dean Windass

Played for Oxford briefly

In July 1998 he moved to Oxford United for £400,000. He won a Division One Player of the Month award and scored 15 goals in 33 league games in his nine months with the club, but was unable to prevent them from sliding into Division Two at the end of the 1998-99 season.

..................too good for this league.....................still a good player..................

Dean Windass

Will he come for 50p a week? Otherwise no chance

Dean Windass

no chance pointless thread we cant afford him and he wouldnt want to move south. anyway i dont want another shipperly on our books.

Correct. The prospect is laughable. Unless fringe players move in the January window to create room in the budget there is no chance of signing anyone.

Dean Windass

also why would he want to play for us as everytime he played against us he got really abused.lol

Dean Windass

He'd put 1000 on the gate...

No he wouldn't, he is nearly 40 years old. No doubt he still has a touch of class about him but he looked way past it against us about 3-4 years ago. He has managed to perform intermitently with flashes of the old goalscoring touch but I do not think he would necessarily get us out of this division nor excite a further 1000 people to come to GP.

Not sure which game you are referring to but the last game I saw him at GP for Bradford he was brilliant. If I recall he looked ridiculously fit for his age. Had to change his shirt when he got a headwound first half and came back on dazed but still outmuscled and outjumped his marker all game(think it was Turner?)

He won't come south so not sure why we are even thinking any chance of him turning out for us.

Dean Windass

Dean Windass could still get in many Championship sides... he's way too good for League Two

I was joking - it was a reference to the overexcited comments following the news of Shipperley coming.

Dean Windass

Deano is Championship class. I very much doubt he would come to Griffin Park on loan.

Dean Windass

Isn't he just Shipperley with a northern accent?:fishing:

You are correct and he popped into the bar for a beer after the game and had
a chat with a few of us before he got on the coach.Sign for us no chance even Leeds couldn't afford his wages.

He was buying beers for the trip back up north

Dean Windass

First and foremost for his age fittest guy ive seen at gp for a long time . Yes great crowd entertainer and a good finisher oh yes he likes a beer but Moderation only halves l o l. Im sure he will end up at Bradford or Hull coaching the juniors in some capacity football needs characters like him good on yer Dean.

Dean Windass

There is absolutly no chance of him coming to play for us.
