Demba Ba
Everytime I've watched him he's been brilliant. Destroying Rio Ferdinand tonight. As good a centre forward as any other out there at the moment imo.
good interview with him before the match. Can also be seen on sky sports website. Funny guy

According to rumour, he is in line for a £2m loyalty bonus (it only be £2, but you know how the media like to exagerate)
How do you get a loyalty bonus for leaving halfway through a season with 18 months left on your contract?

Looking more and more like signing for Chelsea. Can't work out if West Ham/Newcastle is his level or if he would go from strength to strength.

How is Pardew on an eight-year contract?!? Mad club.
Probably a good move for him financially, but less good for his career as I doubt if he'll start many games (assuming Roman insists on Torres playing),
Newcastle played the gamble on Demba Ba and the deal apparently was set up so it was loaded in favour of Ba producing the goods. Low Outlay, high rewards, etc.
Story goes, Stoke were due to sign him from West Ham for something like 300k and Pulis' medical team told him that Demba Ba's knees were shot and only a matter of time he was gonna be a sicknote when he went for the pre signing medical.
Newcastle were short of options and took a punt and got a bargain, but Demba Ba and his agent confident of little risk and Ba's ability insisted on clauses put into his contract for the player if he succeeded he was richly rewarded. Cue today's stuff.
Being fair 15 odd goals by last Christmas was his reward to his pot of gold. Another good showing this year and regular scorer in a struggling side has earnt him and his agent a bounty.
The ones who must be screwing are Stoke, bounced Ba on medical grounds and took on Owen this year!
Thought he was sh*te to be honest....
He looked conference standard todayThought he was league 2 honest....
