eeer although Candle scored the goal yesterday what did u rekon of his performance ?

Dj Candle

he was quiet in the second half, but i don't think thats a bad thing, because he looked like a player who could come out of nowhere and score a goal, which is what we badly need. I'm much happier drawing 3-3 than 0-0 especially with 2 strikers scoring for the second game in a row

Dj Candle

i couldnt care less how he played as long as he scores, but y.day he played good, he held the ball up well and obv scored a goal., well done, goooooo DJ !

Whereas an alternative would have been bound to keep a clean sheet, score a hatrick of penalties and single handedly pay off our debt?

You do come out with some rubbish. You can hardly blame him for the 3 they scored.

the standard of your analysis is poor today..please raise it as you are letting our team down. It's all your fault.

But do you care if DJ goes on a goal drought for the next 20 games? He's costing us points because he's not scoring. Sam Sodje's costing us points because he's not scoring, keeping clean sheets, taking on their defence, and being an overall nutter. Newman's costing us points because he picks up yellow cards and will get a suspension which means it's all his fault if we lose the game he's suspended in?

Sorry, but I can't agree with that. The second, especially, he just stood and watched as it trickled into the net. Granted, the defense were spectacularly absent, but Nelson was poor IMO. I think the ironic cheer (which I didn't like) the first time he collected a ball cleanly suggests that a lot of fans at GP were feeling less charitable than you were...

If we were in a normal financial situation we'd be clamouring for a new keeper. End of, for me. We've now dropped points against a lot of poor sides, and Nelson's been at fault in a lot of those games.

Dj Candle

seen the goals and nelson shd have claimed the ball for the first goal as the geezer headed it in from 5 yards, the 2nd and 3rd were bad marking

I'll give you the first goal but the 2nd and 3rd were no way Nelsons fault. Where was Sodje? Terrible marking for both.

If the booing and grief aimed at certain players in the team by certain people in the New Road stand is anything to go by i wouldn't pay any attention to ironic cheering aimed at Nelson. In my opinion i've seen him make far more saves to keep us in games than mistakes. Remember that is just my opinion, i'm not claiming to be spot on. I just think the lad gets a LOT more stick than he deserves.

Dj Candle

im not blaming him for all 3 , just my view on nelson is he is a good kepper but he does make too many mistakes and he does not command his box or defence and everytime the ball is played back to him or goes in the air i worry

Dj Candle

for not all 3, he could have saved the 2nd one or at least made an attempt.

What did you think of his kicking on Saturday then?

Does that even make sense?

yeah I hate it when he just stands there and watches it go in....it's almost as if he wants to concede....

(ps he is the best keeper we have so back him and desist whining)

Dj Candle

yeh he kicking was like a normal footballer on saturday for a change,

I know you didn't ask me but i'd like to say his kicking on Saturday was much better than we've seen recently. After watching the highlights the only thing that dissapointed me with his performance was maybe the first goal. I don't think he is as bad as half of the people on here say he is.

Dj Candle

And it seems to me you lived your life
Like a candle in the wind
Never knowing who to cling to
When the rain set in
And I would have liked to have known you
But I was just a kid
Your DJ Candle burned out long before
Your kicking ever did

I agree about his kicking on Sat - much improved! But overall as a keeper, I think he's getting worse not better, and that worries me. I had hoped that he'd iron out the mistakes from his game with more experience, but they seem to be getting more, not less frequent.

But overall - fair enough really. I disagree with you but I see your point. Although I would say that few players really deserve the level of stick they sometimes get (except Hutch and Fitz of course! lol )

Dj Candle

From all the screaming on the stands i genuinly thought it sounded like candle, but oh well i think its turned out to be a good nickname.
