Do we have a mental problem?

In all of the many years following the Bees, I cannot remeber giving up so many crucial last minute goals. What is the ******* deal? Why can't we be disciplined and professional and focus on those last few seconds. Also what are the playoff dates??

Do we have a mental problem?

The finals on the 27th and sunday the 15th is actually Monday the 15th.....

Do we have a mental problem?

6 draws in our last 7 games tells it all. 9 points out of a possible 21.

Not good enough for auto promotion.

The 12th is a Friday.

Do we have a mental problem, you ask. The answer to that is 'I don't know.' Are you talking about the fans, the players, or the club as a whole?

I wonder if part of the problem is the nervousness of the support. I mentioned that the entire psychology of the fanbase plunged into a new depth of negativity after the Huddersfield play-off defeat of 1995. Three last-minute goals in recent matches have handed promotion to the lowest-supported club in the whole division. Totally our fault in that respect. Colchester have done it with just 79 points, but well done to them.

Nigel Spackman reckons that Brentford sold the "family jewels" with DJ. Just total bad luck that we lost our goalscorer and Southend didn't.

If it is the players you refer to as having the mental problem, then that question can only be answered by a psychologist! There is clearly a footballing problem. A change is needed to the defence, that is for sure. If we cannot handle a bit of injury time pressure - ever - then something is wrong.

As for the play-off question? I'm off to look. I tried not to think about it. :)

Swansea in the play offs should bee fun. Knight, Trundle, Fallon, Akinfenwa all good scorers against a defence less Sodje............... pour me another vodka

Do we have a mental problem?

and Sodje will be out of the first leg i presume

( it appears that I have had a 2005 diary on my desk for the last 5 and a bit months!!! Goodness know how many things in the next month I'm going to turn up a day early for!)

Do we have a mental problem?

Aren't the semi finals normally on different days? According to Sky Sports website they've pencilled in the following:

Thu 11 Play-off semi-final 1st leg TBC SS1 7.30pm League One
Fri 12 Play-off semi-final 1st leg TBC SS1 7.30pm League One

Not sure how accurate the website is though!

Do we have a mental problem?

Swansea are going into the game on the back of a 4-0-er. It's all so very very predictable isn't it.
I'll make a point of posting something more upbeat & positive before the 1st leg, but right now I've got a headache from the whole thing. I'm punchdrunk & tired of it all. At least if we don't go up we have Milwall & the Os next season for a bit of local rivalry.

Too many third rate players. The good ones can't do all the work.

lovely

Anyway. That's Allen's chance of a plum job out the window so he can look forward to Millwall as well.

FL website says Sunday kick-off 12.15......does anybody have any definitive information, or is everything so far just rumours.....(for a change lol )

Do we have a mental problem?

Apparently it is now best of 6 legs....12th (A) 13th(H) 14th(A) 15th(H) 16th(A) and 17th(H)........maybe we will wear them down.(If we go through ,the best of 3 Finals are 26th 27th and 28th.)

Do we have a mental problem?

Dont think the away leg at Swansea is on sky. Uddersfield site confirms that their first leg, on the same night as we play Swansea is definitely on sky, so unless they show both games on two different sky channels it does not look like being televised, obviously feel that Uddersfield/Barnsley is likely to be a closer game !

Do we have a mental problem?

all of the play off games in league 1 are on tv, as for the dates of the play off games just look on the official site!

I thought so too - but Sky just announced their play off coverage for the week and they only referred to Barnsley v Udders. Looks like I'll have to trek along to Swansea again after all then :(

.....usually they are, but with both 1st leg games kicking off at the same time on the same night, I wondered whether that would still be the case...where does your information come from?.....................

Do we have a mental problem?

Confirmed tonight that our game at Swansea on Thursday 11th May will NOT be televised by Sky....so much for them crowing last night that ALL play off games would be able to be seen live on Sky.....

Do we have a mental problem?

At this moment in time I really couldn't give a flying **** if it's on TV or not.

....who gets to keep the tV money in the play-offs; is it 'home team take all'?
....Swansea will be pretty p**sed if that is the case

Do we have a mental problem?

Returning to the mental state of the team, how does MA pick the side up for Thursday now? I'm convinced that this is the reason why the team which has just missed out on automatic promotion so rarely wins the play offs; the sense of failure which must be all pervasive at the moment. It would have been better really to have lost our chance of second spot last week so that the players had some time to adjust. Despite their own struggles of late, Swansea, of course, will be going in to the match on a high after today's result. I really do fear that it might be all over even before we get them back to GP. If we go there to contain (what do I mean 'if'? ) we run the risk of being swamped.

Do we have a mental problem?

I think that 2 points help to illustrate our problemms
1.in the last 6 matches colchester managed 4 wins and 2 draws.
2.both our goalscorers yesterday were defenders
Now i believe we have over achieved this season, our success is based on a team performance and in such circumstances individual error proves too costly. We do not seem to be able to counteract this with some match winning individual piece of brilliance (notwithstanding paul brooker at swindon).I for one dont believe that Steve tilson,Phil Parkinson or anybody
else could have got us to 3rd place lacking a 20 goal a season man.Whether the problems that i see are down to money, the players MA has brought in to the club i dont know. What i see is a good bunch of players who work hard and are honest in their endeavour but lack the class needed to be automatically promoted. The match where i really came to this conclusion was MK Dons.In the last half hour we were clueless and lessons appear not to have been learned.I fear the problem is delivering under pressure and as in life this will determine the good from the great.

mental problem

I have a mental problem , that's why i support brentford

Do we have a mental problem?

....never known so many consecutive games where last minute goals have been conceded ......definite problem somewhere...............no leadership on the pitch.....

Do we have a mental problem?

Well we used to have the Hounslow Mentals but I think they ceased operating in the mid-eighties.

Would like to have seen them tidy things up in the park after the game yesterday!
