Doug Scott RIP

Bees fan Doug Scott died on 27th February 2019 having suffered a stroke on 12th February.

My Dad (Frank) first met Doug on the Griffin Park terraces some 30 years ago and they have stood together ever since. I’ve stood with them for the last 9 years.

Doug’s last game was the FA Cup replay win over Barnet on 5th February. He’ll be missed by our little group of fans who stand behind the Ealing Road goal.

We’ve sent our condolences to his wife and his daughter.

My Mum, Dad and I will be attending the funeral.

This 3 pts plus the 3 nil home victory against the R's were a fitting tribute to a dedicated Bees fan.

Condolences to his family, his friends and his fellow Bees fans who will no longer have his company at games.

My Mum, my Dad and I attended Doug’s funeral at Woking Crematorium on Thursday 21st March. Also there was fellow Bees fan Terry Palmer and his wife.

Doug’s coffin was carried into the chapel to “Hey Jude”. Doug’s Brentford scarf was on the coffin. There was also a brilliant and lovely wreath that was the style of the Brentford badge from the family.

It was a ‘humanist style’ funeral with lots of music, readings and stories about Doug.

Due to the large number of people we had to sit upstairs in the ‘balcony seats’.

It was a lovely service and a fitting tribute to our friend Doug.
