England B?

Can anyone talk me through this? What will this team consist of on Thurs for the game against Belarus? Only realised this game existed when there was an advert for it at half time of the Watford game.

It will be the substitutes who are unlikely to play in the world cup for example Robert Green and Walcott along with players coming back from injury ie. Owen :sorted:

Always thought these were called England A Internationals.
Steve Bull was also a regular along with the others previously mentioned.

This will be a chance to see what Theo Walcott is like. I hope he impresses because it will build up his confidence before the world cup. He will be out to impress too so he doesn't just sit on the bench in Germany.

No full cap will be issued. Apart from that, it is a friendly like any other. Can't see Belarus giving their B team a run out.

Hopefully Sven might abandon the idea of Crouch starting alongside Owen. sadly, I can't see Lennon displacing Goldenballs. Good to see a proper left sided midfielder as well.

Don't think Carrick did himself many favours last night so wont be in the starting line up against Paraguay. Lennon may have forced himself into the impact sub role though.........

With Rooney out of the opening games, at least, it seems to me a straight choice between Crouch and Carrick for the extra spot, with Gerrard slotted in accordingly.

Carrick may not have been that great last night but surely he has to be a better option than Crouch, releasing Gerrard further forward.

We have two friendlies so we should try one in each game.

I take your point and would probably agree but will Eriksson feel that way? I have my doubts to be honest.

this is the problem isn't it?! Eriksson is such a moron - if the world cup is won it will be DESPITE him, not because of him...

nothing to worry about yesterday - these things happen in football, better to happen in meaningless games than real ones :sorted:
