England v Estonia

Hart; Clyne, Smalling, Cahill, Bertrand; Lallana, Milner, Barkley; Walcott, Kane, Sterling

That's not a bad side to be honest. :)

How crap is Sterling?

He is just a failed 100m runner.

He isn't an England player.

Commanded a 49 million pound transfer fee yet cannot use his left foot.

Not one world class player in the England side . Gone are the days of having a Gasgoine or a Scholes.

Switched from the screen showing this now watching Texas Rangers v Toronto Blue jays at rounders far more entertaining

Totally agree.

Thank god we are in a mediocre group.

I used to really get up for watching England games, but the last two tournaments where we had a team worth watching were 96 and 98 for me. (Should have done better in 2002, but actually thought the football we played wasn't as good).

The Premier League was set up, supposedly to produce world class players for the national side. And as more money has been spent (citing your £49m for an average player as an excellent example) the quality has got worse. Sadly, I couldn't give a monkey's about the England team these days and have no interest in watching them.

I didn't even know we were playing until I saw this thread...hardly seems worth watching these days.

A bit of a yawn fest but I was admiring the Estonian defending to be fair.
Thought Walcott did well but England play too much to Sterling, leaving us looking unbalanced.
Clyne did OK as did Barclay but Milner is no centre midfielder.
Vardy unselfish for second goal, Kane a decent target man but lacks real pace.
9 wins out of 9 and a top seed at the finals - what more could we do?
Pity we don't take these types of games around the country still.

I'm sure I read somewhere that they won't to take some England games to other stadiums, maybe not qualifiers but certainly friendlies.

Sterling doesn't run he minces, reminds me of Norman Wisdom when he played an Italian hairdresser!

To many foreign players, English lads not developing as a result.

I actually sat through it. I thought Vardy was lively but we're going to get stuffed on that showing.

I hate the Prem. All it has done is stuff the wallets of agents and players to the detriment of football as a whole. If the Prem is so good how come Prem clubs have such a poor record in europe? It has also done for our national team.

Don't England still have a deal with the FA to play games at Wembley until it's paid for. Probably got a couple more years to run yet.

How many did Rooney get against the latest superstars to oppose him

He was injured didn't play

Surprised by some of the comments on here. 9 wins out of 9 what more do people want? Would people like us to swap places with the Netherlands who may not even qualify? Both Germany and Spain have lost qualifiers whilst Italy and Belgium may not win their groups.

Of course we will always be judged on how we perform at the tournament itself but we've done everything asked of us.

That's true but can you see us doing well against any of the stronger European teams? Our group is very weak.

We seem to be in a cycle where we qualify easily enough and then look utterly ***** once we get to the tournament. I've not seen any evidence that this is about to change. It's boring...
