About 400 by the look of it. Club can’t moan about revenue when they piss away £12,000 to the home club in unsold tickets. That could have funded six free coaches to Newcastle.

How is the clubs fault they haven’t sold ?
Tbf, I’ve received loads of emails trying to persuade me to buy a ticket.

Becuase they took a higher allocation. Add up the £20k+ spunked away at Man City and you’re looking at money that can keep home ticket prices down.

Presumably the choice was lower block only or both lower and upper. If they only took the lower they would now be criticised for depriving the several hundred who have bought in the upper of the chance to get tickets. We’ve sold more than half the tickets in the upper.
Seems like they did the right thing to me.

Perhaps like me they didn’t think we wouldn’t sell out on our last ever visit . The sales for Villa are a disgrace so far

Month before Xmas and we’ve been there four times before. Can’t comment on Villa but we’re not a big club and shouldn’t expect to sell out 3,000 seats each game.

Money is a big issue for people. Away games arent cheap by the time you factor in a ticket, travel and food etc.

Yep. And this is the 4th northern away already this season. I couldn’t do all 4 , did 2 and missed 2. Won’t be doing this unfortunately but am happy with the memories I have of Goodison from our 3-2 win there.

... I'm beginning to think many STHs...how many are there.... have found their comfort zone watching us at home...and some of the away games in London only....away day support numbers are becoming increasingly what it was like in the championship and lower leagues..... something doesn't add up.

What doesn’t add up is you refusing a season ticket and preferring to be a member!

And we haven’t got a f***ing point on the road either !!

That will be a factor. But the fact remains that the cost of living has increased massively and for a big % of fans, away games will take a back seat.

Been decent numbers so far this season

... you're like a stuck record.... instead at having a pop at me....how about you discuss with BFC imaginative ideas that will provide incentives for STHs to encourage them to attend away games in northern outposts....TAPs are outdated as an incentive...fresh ideas required.

For Everton, the question the club was faced with was not ‘should we expect to sell 3000 tickets’ but ‘do we think we will sell more than 2000‘. We have sold more than 2000 but wouldn’t have been able to if they stuck instead of twisted.
Your criticism of the club in this instance is unfair,

It’s the last 3pm Saturday away until January. Due to silly kick-off times, I doubt I’ll be able to make any others, so I’m in and up there. It’s also our first away against a team below us.

It’s not when they start screwing us for price rises and talk about “levers” and other financial cobblers. This is just wasting money that can be put to better use.

And so are you slagging off season ticket holders. We’re not the weirdos here mate!
......well this weirdo voted for you....make of that what you will...see you at Goodison eh.

Sorry Rebus, this is only ‘wasting money’ if you accept that a better option would have been to deprive 500+ Brentford fans going to Goodison. That would have been the consequence of avoiding being sure not to waste any money and just taking the lower tier.
There maybe many cases to jump on to satisfy your desire to criticise the club but this is not one.

Well i am going and so is my youngest, but my missus is having to miss it as she will be 6000 miles away sorting out land registery so i will, sadly,be sending her ticket back tomorrow.
She will be watching the game on tv though.

Rather lose 10 grand on tickets than 500 people miss out

I am not sure we have to sell all the tickets to be responsible for paying for the entire allocation though, I think once you hit a percentage then it's just unfortunate if you don't. For example the City game on the Friday before the game I was at the club offices talking with someone from the club about another matter and they mentioned that they were really close to the number of tickets they needed to sell to avoid paying for the whole allocation. The club themselves could have probably found a way to hit that percentage, I am guessing, if it was close to the required number.

Anyway re the Everton tickets mine got here a week ago today - can't wait :)

I would suggest our well run club would budget for this throughout the season. They are only trying to offer a service to fans. Can you share with us all on here how you would budget for this and offer a service to fans. I for one would be interested. If your ideas are any good they could be positive for all involved.

Long shot but had a member of our group drop out at last minute so have a spare ticket in lower visitors for Saturday going at face value - message if interested ?

Seeing as there are tickets left I think you will struggle.

Contact the club to see if you can get a credit you can apply to another match.

The club can't win though. Don't take the full allocation and people moan, do take the full allocation and you moan.

I would have thought taking the full allocation for a 3pm Saturday game (plus the last visit to Goodison) factor was the correct decision.

Have we sold out, can’t find the option to buy tickets anymore.
Ring the ticket office mate , they may be able to arrange to pick up there
