Exchange / Concessions

Thought I'd keep the ticket thread for matches, so putting it here.

This is something I have moaned about on here before, but having spoken to other people in similar position thought I'd mention again.

Other than pushing for extra ££s, why do the club not sell kids/OAP tickets on the exchange? I'm certain if they did, more would sell on the exchange and wouldn't have to keep hoping STHs have friends with no plans the day before a game.
Yes, the club may end up "losing" money on adult STHs being bought as a child ticket but they also make alot on the child STs on the exchange being sold at £40+. Same goes for OAP concessions.
With the way KO times are subject to change, it can be difficult to commit to purchase in first release. Obviously late changes to childcare/their activities can happen that make them available too.

I just don't understand it. It helps families, helps bring in the "new blood", helps those of pension age, helps with every seat counts initiative, could help lessen the tourists etc. Plenty of positives.
Is this something BIAS could push the club on @rebus @hobbsy?

Agree with this. I’ve got a senior concession on my ST my son is a member as are his 2 kids but if he wants to use the exchange the cost is prohibitive.

It is something that supporters' groups are pushing and the club have agreed to review this for next season. IIRC
Sweet! Hadn't seen it mentioned/an update since my last moan ?

Paid £55 for a senior for the west ham game. Greedy imo

Agreed and not the usual ‘caring sharing’ Brentford that they so often promote.
Certainly not the club we knew, it's us and them now the way they now operate money seems to be the priority.
What they forgot if it wasn't for us oldies there would be no Brentford!

That’s a trifle OTT.
Compare to Fulham for example our admission prices for PL are very fair. I certainly can’t complain about the cost of my Snr ST.
Think the exchange policy needs looking at and it seems that it is.
It’s true what you say kept the club going in the bad old days but think we need a bit of perspective.

I can’t complain either about the price of my senior season ticket in the Dug out,
but on the very rare occasion that I can’t make a match, I upgrade it to a adult ticket
for my Grandson, at a cost of £35.

Easier to buy him a stick-on reusable grey beard!

I also think they could offer a refund on the exchange as some of us do not know whether a Season Ticket is viable for next year.
After all they can sell the ticket at a good profit anyway.

Don’t get me started on kids memberships…

Presumably the problem for the club is that they provide a refund to the season ticket holder at their average cost, which is higher than the concessionary rate paid for it on the exchange, so they incur a loss if they don't charge the adult price? What about concessionary season tickets placed on the exchange? Do they make a concomitant profit on these? And is there a clever solution to this problem?

Yes they do. Swings and roundabouts and all that.

Plus we are told that the most important goal is to fill the stadium with home fans EVERY SEAT COUNTS!

Yeah so, using West Stand prices, a child ST on the exchange means a £30/£35 (CatB/CatA) profit for the club after refunding STH. Adult ST being sold as a child is £10/£15 loss.
So would need to sell 3x the amount of child tickets before a loss comes into things.
But it's not a money grab ?
