FA Cup 5th Round

The FA Cup fifth round draw will take place on Monday 28 January ( 7.20pm) and will be broadcast live on The One Show.

The draw will be conducted by two-time FA Cup winner Ian Wright and Alex Scott

The fifth round is scheduled to take place between Friday 15 February and Monday 18 February.

Winning clubs will receive £360,000 after The FA doubled the prize fund at the beginning of the season.

It’s a very weird scenario having the draw before our game. I can’t get excited about who we might potentially be playing when we could still get knocked out by Barnet.

Pinched from the BBC but if West Ham don't score in the next few minutes there will a maximum of 7 PL clubs in the draw. (forgot Palace and Spurs tomorrow)

Could do with some of these drawing each other on Monday. Will then give the chance for a smaller club to make it into the semi’s or even the final. Which would be good for the cup and great for football in general.

Forgot it was 5th round day when I booked a non-refundable weekend in South Wales to coincide with our league fixture there. If it comes off this could still look like a work of genius.

OK, to answer my earlier question, this appeared in The Standard a couple of days ago:

When is the draw
The draw will take place on Monday, January 28, before Barnet vs Brentford kick-off at The Hive Stadium.

TV channel and how to follow
The draw will be shown live on BBC One during The One Show.

This is a decent draw it's panning out, a lot of the bigger teams are out. If we avoid one of the 'big 3' that are left, we'd have a chance progressing decently far (if we beat Barnet).

Wow, a MAXIMUM of 7 PL teams in the 5th round. The FA cup is well and trully dead.
