Hey now, we don't want to encourage that notorious law firm to get involved - what was it, Milan Lawyers?

Beheading incoming... Here we go!

Fabrizio Romano

No denying he has some agent contacts(Though I think he is not as ITK as it seems at times), but he is beyond arrogant and some people worship him like he is a God. Somewhat pathetic tbh.

Fabrizio Romano

Can only imagine the Twitter DM's this bloke is getting from "Fabs" army.

Fabrizio Romano

Milan Lawyers will have been on the phone :ROFLMAO:

Yes. He'll just look at his bank balance.
I read the article and as I did I was hoping upon hope that reference would be made to his interaction with the GPG ownership who don’t advertise and aren’t out to fleece their readership…..

Fabrizio Romano

Seems he slid into someone else's DMs a while before mine, but at least he now gets 4 hours of sleep per day

This story got a mention on the Guardian football weekly, where they were a bit soft on Fab, although they were pretty shocked at him shilling for Saudi Arabia so blatantly.

Hold on. Weren’t we told that he doesn’t tweet for money? He’s going to have to delete all his social media accounts now.

Some excellent replies explaining the world to my mate Fab

Nauseating podcast incoming.
There seems to be a lot more ads/ paid partnerships on his X account in recent times. No doubt someone will be paying him well to promote some sh*t.

Maybe @Banana is right though and he’s about to do a summer internship and be David Ornstein’s tea boy for a few weeks and learn what an actual journalist does.

But amid negotiations of the deal which eventually saw Yan Diomande sign for Real Madrid from RB Leipzig this week, Romano was called out and did not like it.

German broadcaster and transfer market journalist Florian Plettenberg criticised him for declaring the Diomande move a ‘Here We Go’ – Romano’s ubiquitous catchphrase has now become a noun – when there were contractual issues still to resolve. A firm possibility was being tweeted as certainty – disingenuously, claimed Plettenberg – to give the sense that Romano was ahead of the pack in breaking news of a transfer.
[...]
But Romano’s response was vindictive. A deeply personal attack on Plettenberg include the revelation of private messages in which the German had asked Romano for advice on increasing his own social media following and lavished him with praise. Romano even revealed how Plettenberg had told him: ‘Your work is my motivation.’

Plettenberg pointed to a Romano ‘done deal’ that never was – Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace to Liverpool – and said the Italian deleted his dud stories. There is only ever one winner on social media when you’re competing with someone who has millions of followers. Plettenberg was on the receiving end of a pile-on. But the German seemed to have hit a nerve.
A familiar pattern, eh
