Fan Etiquette

It's sometimes difficult being a football fan as there are all sorts of unwritten rules that you can easily fall foul of. For example, someone has just got himself into trouble on another thread for cheering when a Brentford player was subbed. It's not written anywhere that this is to be frowned upon. It's not stated anywhere officially that you can't support more than one club, either. It's a bit of a minefield frankly. This kind of thing wouldn't happen if you joined a golf club, for example, as you would probably be handed a rule book stating what you should and shouldn't do in various situations. So I wondered if it would be helpful for those either new to this football mullarky or just simply unsure of their ground if experienced members (no offence intended with this word) were to contribute their own golden rules (bullet point style, probably)?

Fan Etiquette

Booing your own players or swearing at when we are behind.
Sending abusive texts to your mates after the game because you may be in the company of a young lady and not down the pub with the 'lads" is totally inappropriate and very unhelpful.

Fan Etiquette

A friend was asking if it is acceptable to break wind on the Ealing Road terracing?

Fan Etiquette

Don't do anything to demoralise your own team... ie. Booing Sawyers, Kerchbaumer. That's the main one for me.

Also, i think everyone needs to remember, at the end of the day it's only a game. Put the opposition off however you choose, but abuse has to have its limits.

:)

Only after a piping hot curry pie that has to be cooled in your pocket 1st half and eaten in tge second

Fan Etiquette

Leaving for a game that kicks off at 3pm at 10.30am when you live 30mins away is perfectly normal, reasonable and acceptable behaviour and shouldn't be questioned.

Another friend wanted to know if picnic hampers were a good idea?

Fan Etiquette

Only when transporting flares and fireworks

Maybe. I simply commented that it would be a good icebreaker and would help him make new chums with those in the seats around him.

Don't get me started again. Walk in 15 minutes after kick off, dither about , block everyone's view, get up 5 minutes later for the toilet, 10 minutes later for a burger. If you did that in a cinema, you'd get slung out.

If your going to rip up other teams stadia this is fine provided you dont throw pieces around hitting your own fans..

When using urinals turn the power down a few notches nobody likes having their shoes covered in someone elses splash back.

Stadia indeed! Have you been on the local government literacy course? rofl

Firm guidance required on appropriate treatment of returning former players. On-pitch 'welcome back' presentation from chairman prior to kick-off? Furtive deposit of dogsh1t in player's boots in changing room by undercover ball boy? All-out noisy hostility from start to end of match? 90-minute standing ovation? Just what are you meant to do?

STFU about all the boring sh*t going on in your boring life about which you blether on loudly to your bored mate for 88 minutes, and watch the ****ing game and cheer it.

Too bloody right?

Fan Etiquette

Don't leave two minutes before the final whistle 'to avoid the traffic'.

In fact, don't leave early for whatever reason, whatever the score.

Agreed if a steward asks you to leave they should be met with considerable force....
