Interesting evening, although I don't even remember Sweepy's question.

I was less vocal than I might have been since I had the good fortune to speak to the ever silver-tongued Mr. White who answered many of my concerns instantly and satisfactorily.
For me,
The Positives Tonight:
1. BU is not out of its depth, and provided things go according to plan (and I would say there is a 70-80% chance of them doing so) and provided that none of those speaking from the platform tonight lied to us, even the mid-term future and certainly the long-term future could be very rosy if we can survive the short term.
2. BU has been far more active behind the scenes than it cares to admit, which was great to hear.
3. Wally is aware of the problems facing him and is not entirely clueless, although his answer to Ed's question sounded like a recital from the GPG. I was particularly interested in the fact that in an ideal world he would like a Sports' Scientist/Psychologist type - this could be feasible... especially given that Wally conceded that our current problem is largely psychological.
4. Eddie Rogers was very receptive to the idea of a separate BU fund being set up solely for the purpose of improving the first team.
5. There could be some fresh blood coming into the club very soon, and the link with Chelsea could prove very exciting.
6. The speakers were remarkably open about issues such as Roget, Stannard, Forzoni (although I wasn't convinced Wally was telling the WHOLE truth) and the QPR fiasco last season.
7. It seems that everybody who wanted to ask something did, unlike last time where I felt some people were left with more questions to ask.
8. JM's announcement that the club had received in writing an offer of £15.8m for the Griffin Park site.
The Negatives Tonight:
1. Wally will not stand down no matter how bad results get.
2. Sonko is being paid more than he should be and football agents do not seem to view our club very favourably at present.
3. BU and the club are a little too keen never to shoulder blame - sensitivity IMO and JM's comments re the GPG were particularly interesting.
4. The lack of a leader in the club. Under Hargraves, everybody reported to Hargraves. Under JM, everybody is expected to more or less get on with their own thing. This seemed a bit odd to me...
Amusing Moments:
1. Wally getting the "dreaded" vote of confidence from Eddie Rogers.
2. Some chap's joke asking how we could afford the two sums of £1 to buy the club from Altonwood even if we did get rid of the debt.
3. The gentleman who confessed to fancying Dobbo's Aunt.
Overall:
I won't deny that things are in better shape (although I still have reservations about some of the incumbents) than I had thought, and this week is a very important one for the club (let's see if they tell us anything

). There are more things that I am now privy to, but I'm not entirely sure if I am at liberty to reveal them... so for now I won't.
I would nevertheless repeat that BU are doing an extraordinarily poor job on the PR front considering how things actually are and considering their actual needs. Oh well.
