Favourite ever goal....

Talking about Rooney got me thinking.

What is your favourite ever goal, and why? Doesnt have to be the Bees, but anyone.

Mine?

Well the one below, Rivaldo's overhead kick against Valencia in the last minute. 2-2, 89th minute, last game of the season, needed to beat Valencia to get into Champions League, and then this happens... Makes me laugh, everytime. What. A. Goal. If you've never watched this hattrick, its probably the best ive ever seen.

Gazza volley against Scotland Euro 96. I was in the stands at Wembley that day so always stays in my mind.

Glenn Poole against Wycombe is the best bees goal I've seen live.

Favourite ever goal....

Matt Smith's 94th minute equaliser against Everton at Boundary Park last season.

This is my all time favourite, despite not being for Brentford or England. Love everything about it, the goal, the pitch, the celebration, the crowd.....

Always brings a tear to my eye. Ronnie Radford - 1972 - FA Cup.

Favourite ever goal....

Carlos Alberto Brazil v Italy 1970 WC Final

Favourite ever goal....

Ibrahimovic vs England. The overhead kick. Unbelievable goal

Favourite ever goal....

Holland penalty in the World Cup against West Germany 1974, German's never touched the ball until the ball was in the net from the kick off....

Favourite ever goal....

Bergkamp WC 1998 v Argentina. Typified the player he was. Great first touch from a long ball, superb finish but more importantly I celebrated it so much as it put one up the Argies who had knocked us out in such heartbreaking fashion.

Jonathan Pearce was commentating on local radio back then and when it went in he said over the air "Bergkamp has cored to put the Argentina out and good bloody riddance"
He then had to apologise and it's stuck with me.

...............3rd year junior school scored from half way line............keeper had no chance............

Favourite ever goal....

Bees: probably Jason Price @ Reading in 2002
Non-Bees: Tony Yeboah V Wimbledon in 1995. I was there and have still never seen anything quite like it.

Favourite ever goal....

non-Bees... someone mentioned that Tony Adams goal the other day (i think in relation to how cool it'd be if Tony Craig did similar :D), it was a great moment

the Cantona dribble and chip, with the imperious celebration - fantastic

Favourite ever goal....

Charlie Nicholas once scored a cracker at Ibrox and one for Scotland at Hampden against the Swiss.

Kenny Dalglish against Belgium.Sheer class.

Eric Cantonas lob and arms outstretched celebration.

Dennis Bergkamp against Argentina and the hat trick against Leicester but my favourite is the goal against Newcastle United.

Tony Folans half way line against Cambridge United.

So many to choose from.

Favourite ever goal....

Also Tony Folan v Posh away. We won. He dribbled past and beat about 4 defenders inside the pen box before slotting home. At the Moyes end in front of us!

Thank you. Forgot there were less than 4 defenders, but still great skill.

Beckham's FK against Greece, for two reasons.

1. It meant England qualified for the WC Finals,

2. The German players were watching on the sidelines after their game had finished, and they had to settle for the play offs.

1966 Bobby Charlton for Man U v Fulham

Charlton receives the ball from his defence in the centre circle in his own half, pivots and sends a 60 yard diagonal pass to the far right hand corner flag. George Best sprints along the touchline, reaches the ball and without looking up, hits the ball first time back across the Fulham box. Charlton arrives in the "D" at the same time as the ball and without taking a touch, smashes a shot into the top corner which Tony Macedo never even saw. From defence to the back of the Fulham net :) in a few seconds.

I was privileged to be there that day and marvel at the skill of two of the greatest players ever.
