Favourite World Cup
Fairly straightforward. Which was your favourite? For me 1982. 1990 and 1998 had their moments.
1978 - Panini stickers, Mario Kempes and Rainer Bonhof.
1990 - World in Motion, Platt, Lineker and Gazza.

All since 1990 have been utter cack.
I think Platts goal against Belgium was the highlight - I remember running down the Uxbridge road, going berserk after that one.
Italia 90
The relief of Wrights header v Egypt
The ecstasy of Platts volley
Butcher and Waddle's barmy army
The stomach clenching 'we need a goal' of the Cameroon game
The pride of the Germany game
The Gazzaness of the Germany game
The devastation of the Germany game
The Nessun Dorma montages
The fit bird in the pub with huge knockers at the Italy game
It seems either England doing well or it happening at a 'good time' in your life is key (e.g. First you can remember or young and without ties).
1978 - I was mesmerised by the scenes at the final. That was the day I fell in love with football and wanted to go to Brentford again!
I loved 1990 - being 12 years old and getting full immersed in it all. I cried for hours after we got knocked out of the semi's and just kept listening to World in Motion over and over. 1998 was my first World Cup where I could go to the pub and watch so enjoyed that for different reasons.
Was it 1978 when Scotland lost to Peru, and drew with Iran?

Yes. Cubillas free kick for Peru. Then that Archie Gemmill goal against Holland put them 3-1 up and for a few hopeful minutes the Scots, having been rank in the first two games, looked like getting the three goal win needed to qualify. Then the Dutch scored with a rocket and it was all done.
