FC United

Nicky Adams - From Giant Killing to Giant Killed.

FC United

In keeping with their cock ups from the other night, BBC are reporting it as Rochdale 3-2 FC Utd of Manchester.

FC United

Att: 7,048, how many United then?

FC United

3200. Similar to our support at Brum.

FC United

I'm a bit more reluctant to celebrate. This is not a small organisation at work.

I think they said 3,200 sold up to last Tuesday but they thought there were more Utd fans there than Dale.

Great support both number and vocally shame about some of the object throwing tho!

Great game for the first on the FA cup!

:imwith:

Can't get myself worked up with the usual amount of excitement reserved for a giant killing given they're a breakway section of Man Ure fans.

FC United

Watched the game and like all underdogs they had their fair share of luck, but good luck to them. Rochdale are no mugs, as they proved at Griffin Park, so a big shock really.

FC United

I personally have very little time for FCUM. I know a number of people who go to both Old Trafford and FCUM.... makes it very difficult to separate the two in my mind. Not exactly a breakaway....

FC United

Their support and celebrations were outstanding. Non stop singing for 90 mins and a great noise and pitch invasion for first goal. Tremendous stuff.

With the journos on strike, you would think they could get it right.:D

FC United

Away fans looked liked thugs .

thats exactly what birmingham said recently;):D

great start to the fa cup though.......the corporate, prawn sandwich, jester hat wearing football fan freaks of todays just wouldnt get it:sorted::sorted:

well done **** or should that be fcum:D

FC United

i always had the impression it was man utds 'lively' element who defected to fcum

Def think there's a bit of truth in that.....I bet it's mental when that lot descend on any team in their league! I remember years ago going to Chertsey v Aldershit and the ground was 3/4 of them (sh!ts)- 'lively!' as Voice would say! Luckily there was plenty of Stella going down and only a short walk home for me!
I think that year every ground they went to they outnumbered the homes fans - thankfully that would never happen at Brentford!

Anyway, any team that has Manchester in the name, I want to lose!

FC United

Would like them if they didnt have anything to do with United!

I don't get them - full stop.

AFC Dons was formed because they were left without a club. FC United was formed by a comparatively small percentage of Man U fans (but still sizeable by number) who decided to take up a new hobby rather than fight the Glazers with the rest of the Man Utd fans. We fought W£bb and Noad£s - we didn't just go and form a new club.

Do they still watch Man U on Sky or MOTD and secretly cheer them on? Do they think that this new club is really better than watching Man U in the Champions League, just because they happen to not like the people in charge? Would have it been better if they had invested their time and efforts backing the good local clubs like Rochdale and Bury rather than adding further burden to their catchment area and knocking them out of cups?

At least unlike Milton Keynes they did start their club from scratch I suppose, but FC Utd are more :nono: than :sorted: in my eyes.

Their financial impact on non-league football can only be positive surely? The fact that these people were so disillusioned that they were prepared to start at the grass roots of the games should be respected and applauded IMO. If they get into the football league, they will benefit every club they play and I'm not really sure what the problem is. To me, they are proper football fans.

That is a fair point. Let's hope they bring 2,000 down to GP.

FC United

if they get drawn away at old trafford in the third round, will any of their fans go as they all hate glazer etc so much they've had to set up a new team to avoid giving him their money?

FC United

Good game on friday. What song were they singing for ages? Aldershit sang it as well yesterday. Something about singing on their own?

That would be an awkward one for them!

FC United

Most of the fans are ones that have a ten year ban from all professional football for hooliganism at United away games... have a right reputation everywhere they go... Brighton and Woking watch out!

FC United

Hmmmm, maybe FC United might grow on me over time. :D

An Inspiral Carpets song called 'This is How it Feels'.

Words changed to "This is how it feels to be FC, this is how it feels to be home, this is how it feels when you don't sell your a**e to a Gnome, a**e to a Gnome, A**e to a gnome"

"I am a Mancunian
I am an FC fan
I know what I want and I know how to get it, I wanna destroy Glazer and Sky...cause I wannna be an FC"

to the tune of Anarchy in the UK is class, there's footage of a friendly at Halifax where they've been singing it for 20 minutes, and it's doing the commentators heads in.
