Feedback from Notts County

I always like to keep my Away Guides up-to-date and relevant, so would appreciate constructive feedback from anyone who was at Meadow Lane, while it's fresh in the mind.

For future reference: anything on my current information that needs to be added / deleted / modified?
I am particularly concerned about road and rail directions ; admission areas ; concession categories etc.

In addition I always welcome general comments about facilities (including catering); viewing perspective; ferocity of stewards etc etc.

The stewards were fine but the police seemed determined to provoke one of the kids around me into doing something arrestable.

I'm not sure how his language and chanting prior to the police intervention were "provoked" by them? !!

Possibly we are - but there was a group of lads standing right at the back, one of whom was taken away briefly for a "word" and maybe more by one of the officers. I don't know exactly what they did and I wasn't particularly offended by their language but I do wonder about their sense by launching into a stream of what might be classed as obscenities, chants and gestures when two police officers were standing immediately behind them.

That strikes me as a provocation of sorts - and not by the police.

Back to the original question though, and the only comments I would make about the facilities were that in my opinion, the catering facilities were excellent, well-staffed and with two fairly large outlets within the away stand, there should be little excuse for any complaints about the service and availability.

Oh, and the cattle market car parking, which is excellent for a quick get-away after the match, is now £3.00 per vehicle.

i was at the back all we did was sing number number number 1 oh w*nk like most week at home and the police didnt like it

Feedback from Notts County

The whole Meadow Lane Stadium is a smoke free zone.....no smoking areas whatsoever.

Leicester Bee enjoyed 3 pies during the game, so he may give the catering a thumbs up.....He also enjoyed a Bovril (he's been up North for too long)

lol

The pies were actually above the minimum legal serving temperature of 75C, so a big thumbs up from me. The cheeseburger was effin woeful though. And the Bovril was Bovril. Catering was a solid 6/10

No, you can't effin smoke either, not even allowed a pass-out. I mean, this makes me really effin angry. I smoke, it's my effin choice to, and to say I can't smoke in a football stadium is pathetic. I can understand restaurants, workplaces, public transport, etc. But pubs, football grounds, WMC's....it takes the piss.

Anyway, the car parking is now £3, but it is opposite the away turnstiles. Park on the streets, and Notts County fans advise that you are highly likely to be broken into.

The catering was definitely a lot better than last time we played them there (apparently they changed the caterers)

Shame the pubs are all being closed down though. The bloody awful Navi next to the ground wont be missed, but the Town Inn has gone and so has - so i am told - the Plumtree, but as that was in gangland, it was not a wise move to go there anyway. The Trent Bridge Inn (TBI) serves a good pint of Marstons, so worth a visit if we go there again.

The last time I went the catering was ok, if not a bit on the expensive side.

If some of our fans had brains they'd be safe.

b***ocks.

We were singing and creating an atmosphere.

Speaking to a County fan after, I was told all the cops there behave in the same provocative manner.. even to home fans.

This is perhaps why the home support was so quiet. :fishing:

If our fans have brains, we won't let the cops ruin football..

I was singing and swearing my red and white heart out and didn't have any trouble. I thought a nice layed back approach by the stewards and helpful staff on the gate. At the end one steward at the front was even gesturing at a fellow steward at the back in an uncomplimentary manner.
Decent number of toilets and bars and they let you get on with it and pick your own stairway and seat, which is a rarity.
Shame about the lack of pubs near the ground, but i'd be well pleased if Lionel Rd measured up to Meadow Lane.:sorted:

Apart from the fact the ground is only half an hour away, it is of a good standard. My only complaint is the PA system is poor, the speakers in front of me were disconnected and any announcements were inaudible.

The muppett on the ticket office said that i needed a photo on my NUS card even though they do not do them. Then he sold me a ticket for the home end instead of the away end.

I was in my BFC shirt with notts county fans around me.

Most stewards were decent there and good natured.
