First Five Games

Who would you want? I can't remember when the evening ones are.

I'd go for:

Leeds (H)
Brighton (A)
Blackpool (H)
Fulham (A)
Wigan (H) - the midweek one

Rationale - Leeds would be packed and we would have a decent chance of a win; Brighton away. Few days away. Good ground etc.; Blackpool at home - Points on the board possibilities; Fulham away -would love that on a decent warm day; Wigan at home - Return of Rosler, could be a midweek game as they would probably only bring a few hundred.

In fact any configuration would be good. But i would love a home game to start off.

First Five Games

First game, any of the Yorkshire clubs away as I'm in York that weekend. After that, not fussed.

Strange isnt it , I saw your list and though, that's well exciting and far more glamorous then we are used to. Then it dawned on me ive seen us play ALL those teams in the division we've just come out of!

I was thinking the same thing. I guess the difference is there was a time when playing the likes of Leeds, Forest or Sheffield Wednesday would be one of the season highlights but now it'll be an every week occurrence

First Five Games

Anyone except Rotherham or Wolves first day would do me. Would be good to have a couple of beatable teams 4th and 5th games once we've settled into the division and Blackpool away on a Saturday in August or September, but in general any fixture at any time next season is going to be a good one.

First Five Games

I'm hoping for Fulham away first couple of games as I am heading off to Sydney in august.....not sure date yet but will somas soon as I know the fixtures... :)

First Five Games

Wigan home
F@lham away
Charlton home
Watford away

First Five Games

Think we will play one of the relegated clubs first up.

Cardiff home

First Five Games

Wont be in the country for the first game so anyone who might up the odds of the game being postponed.

Failing that an away game like Blackburn.

A couple of home games against lower tier opposition, Millwall, Blackpool, Rotherham would suit me but also looking forward to some grounds I haven't been to such as Brighton and Watford. Hoping that some early home games will get an unbeaten run going for us and some points on the board.

First Five Games

I'd like

(h) Birmingham
(a) Blackburn
(h) Blackpool
(a) Bolton
(h) Bournemouth
(a) Brighton

First Five Games

Five of the divisions weakest sides so we can win them all and be top of the league.

Millwall
Blackpool
Bimingham
Charlton
Fulham

First Five Games

Blackpool (a)
Leeds (h)
Millwall (a)
Birmingham (h)
Bolton (a)

Can we have the beatable teams in the first two please so we can get points on the board?

First Five Games

Not wanting but I have a feeling it'll be Derby at home, first game.

I'd rather have them when we've played a couple of games and got into our stride, but whatever the case any order of fixtures is going to be enjoyable.

Our stride could be 5 defeats, I would rather we got off to a good start and built the confidence up.

First Five Games

First game has to be Blackpool away on a sunny day out, atmosphere would be great!

First Five Games

Probably get Middlesborough away. Still it would get a long trip out of the way. However, Birmingham at GP would be a interesting start.

First Five Games

one of us is wrong !

First Five Games

Blackpool away
Leeds home
Fulham away
Wigan home (evening)
Wednesday away

First Five Games

Hoping for less exciting games mid Sept to late Oct as not in country much - so bound to include Norwich and Ipswich (a) & Fulham (h) in that period - and probably Rotherham away as well to deprive me of a 'Popeye's' roast pork roll for at least another season! Really hope for both a decent test at home and an away game where we may hope for a positive result in the first couple, just to see where we stand.

First Five Games

Can't make the first game so I hope its a long way away. The Riverside would be just fine.

First Five Games

Norwich - A,
Forest - H,
Boro - A,
Huddersfield - H,
Rotherham - H

First Five Games

Leeds A - great opener at a crisis club. Big away following.
Birmingham H - old rivalry. Potential win.
Fulham A - catch them cold. Take over the Cottage.
Watford H - welcome back Watford! Slow starters?
Brighton A - lovely sunny day out, BHA down in the dumps, go for it.

First Five Games

Huddersfield (A)
Rotherham (H)
Derby (A)
Middlesbrough (A) Tuesday
Wolves (H)

^^^^^^ we'll get something like that.

First Five Games

Although I'd like

Blackpool (A)
Birmingham (H)
Blackburn (A)
Charlton (H)
Leeds (H)

Guess who? 9am Wednesday 17th according to OS and Football League site.

Wednesday or 17th as they are not the same?

Looking forward to the fixture list for many reasons, waiting until they are released before booking a week away

A lot of ''old teams' but with new stadiums

First Five Games

Quite correct - Wednesday 18th, 9am - I think! Wish i'd waited before booking trips in early season but early booking discounts persuaded me otherwise. I actually deliberately avoided play-off dates last season ( the realist in me, but proved wrong ultimately thank goodness!). Don't think the timing of the play-offs will be a problem this season - but hope springs eternal!!

I think there will only be 4 clubs I cannot remember playing at GP in league games since I started going in 1977. Norwich, Derby, Ipswich and Middlesborough.

We played Norwich City on 18th August 2009 in League One and beat them 2-1 (it was the game before Paul Lambert officially took over at Norwich).

I think we played derby on boxing day once and there was a bomb alert which delayed kick off

we have played all except Ipswich in league games since than mate

First Five Games

I dont care who we get in the first 5 games. Every game is going to be exciting just because we are here at last in the Championship and we can beat any of the other 23. Like someone earlier said, we are going to be playing big teams not just 3 or 4 times a season, but the majority of weeks between August and May. Im even looking forward to Rotherham and Bournemouth.
