I know we need the money but I reckon the crowd for the Wednesday game will be reduced from about 8,000+ to 6,000 if we're lucky.
Next season can we have Carlisle away on Sky please![]()
Good pointWe'd hope to be in a higher division![]()
midday on a Sunday, WTF !!! Sodding Sky !

Back of a fag packet figures....we will lose 3,000 off the crowd, paying an average of £25 (optimistically - inc in-ground spend)
- £75,000
What do we get from Sky ?
Around the same I would have thought...
I am sure someone can correct my coarse approximation of the figures...![]()
Think your a bit out there think our best total revenue from a home game was just short of 100k for the full house against Wycombe in div 2Back of a fag packet figures....we will lose 3,000 off the crowd, paying an average of £25 (optimistically - inc in-ground spend)

Sheff Wed moved to Sunday really p*ssed me off just arranged to come back early on the sat from a family do up north to see the game.Fly off to Vegas at midday on the sunday so will now miss the game.![]()
Bang goes the boat trip to Orient via Greenwich
8 Corner won't be happy
Moving the Sheffield Wednesday game to the Sunday is an absolute disaster for me.I deliberately book my holidays to run from Sunday to Friday and having checked for mid-week games to make sure I don't miss any Bees games whilst I'm away.
I didn't stop to think that some fixtures are often juggled around before the season starts and now I'm faced with two choices.
So fellow GPGers, what should I do ?
a) Fly out with my dearly beloved on the Sunday, hope I can find somewhere to watch the game on Sky and miss being at a home game for the first time in 20 years.
or
b) Rearrange my flight for the Sunday evening / Monday morning, persuade my dearly beloved to do the same or to fly out to Spain on the original flight on her own thus allowing me to go to the game but most likely incurring her incredible rage.

I wonder if this needs a poll..........
Cancel your holiday and book somewhere nicer than Spainlol
We're staying at my parents' timeshare so there are no accommodation costs. Unfortunately without this saving we wouldn't be going at all.![]()

Great news for me. I can go to Orient now
I would do option c) first: Check how many players Sheffield Wednesday, and indeed Brentford depending on transfers, are likely to have called up for internationals taking place on the same weekend before discussing it with said partner - wrath is coming one way or another with a) and b)
Blimey 12.00 k.o on a sunday i know that it's because of sky but why are we being treated like Millwall?

I wonder if the club noticed that the switch of the Sheff Wed game, to Sun 5th Sept, sets up a clash with the Brentford Festival Event, in and around Boston Manor Park.
Did we get a choice, or do Sky / Football league issue us with an ultimatum ?
The Brentford Festival was another chance for the club to reach out and be involved in the local community. Not sure whether they had any plans to take part, but, I don't suppose they can now....
why not surely it will be a better time with it being a match day and with the cameras there its the full experience! and can advertise the festival at the game, if anyone interested they can still go there from 1.45pm its hardly late!
also i think you will find 90% of those going to the game wouldnt have been going to the fesival anyway, not as if the festival gets many there as it is, dont worry smiffy bees game wont effect it at all!
why dont you organise a footie thing in the morning for kids and give some free tickets to those who compete as an incentive?!
http://www.brentfordfestival.org.uk/BF2010.htm
a fair point, but after 90 minutes of football, will match go-ers really want to struggle over to Boston Manor Park ?
...maybe they will, but who will tell them ?
Do you mean "me" or do you mean "BIAS", and anyway, shouldn't the club be interested in fostering community links, rather than me or BIAS...

anyone know the official reason why orient moved to fri yet ????
also, sheff weds move is no good too........going to england v pakistan 20/20 at cardiff on the sunday.....will have to find somewhere to watch it there instead......which will probably be a right 'kin pain
i wish sky would leave us alone:sad:
