Foreign Exchange

I've had a sort out of all my bits and pieces of foreign currencies again. If anyone is travelling to countries other than Russia, the US, Central/South America (I have MXN) or Eurozone, drop me a PM and, if I've got some (too many to list!) I'll willingly arrange to hand over what I've got. For many, it's just shrapnel, but I've got more for some. I've still got around £200-worth of Russian RUB, if anyone is interested.

I'm always willing to take EUR of anyone's hands, in whatever quantity you may have, at split rate. I'll be at games up and including to Forest.

Is this what the charity money bins are for in departure lounges?

Yes... but I never think about it until I get home and dump it on the dressing table.

There is a machine at Vauxhall Station that accepts foreign currency and loose coins now if you can't shift.

Not a station I frequent but thanks. It's really that I've had an "instruction" to clear up the dressing table and realised how much I've got. Binning all the away ticket stubs was a bit of a heartache, though, but I did find a comb I lost months ago!

Is this a Michael Macintyre “man drawer”?
What have you done with the old keys, none of which fits any door in your house? Old batteries? Instructions for mechanical items you no longer own? Allen keys?

I have a 3-car workshop for all that stuff!

Thomas Exchange are usually one of the best for rates and do a postal service - https://www.thomasexchange.co.uk/buyback.asp

The trouble with online is there is usually a fee for credit cards which negates the benefit, and I don't want to put my debit card details on the web.

You can post it, you know the exchange rate when posting, and they tell you the charges depending on the option you choose:

The only problem is the rate you get will be whatever it is when your post arrives with them. However they're generally pretty good so you'd just have to be unlucky if the rate swung massively during the course of the day or so the form and money is in the post.
