If, and it's a big if, he did make contact with him in the eye then that is still a huge overreaction. I've seen kids as young as 8 stay on their feet and cry if a player gas stood on their feet. He has chucked himself to the floor as if diving out the way of a bullet or something.

To be fair to the Watford fans, 99% of them on their forum are calling for him to be fined, banned, even chucked out of their club. They are as enbarrassed as anyone by it.

Right, so the ref took action and sent off Sako, which means he saw the incident and dealt with it. Does this in turn mean that the FA cannot now take retrospective action??

Im actually going to change this, after reading a bit more of their comments.
A lot of the filthy tripe are actually condoning it and whingeing about all the other cheats that have played against them, or saying "Sako definately hit him".
Yellow tinted glasses. Or sh*t in their eyes...

Should be banned for a long time, yet what do you expect from Watford, the penalty at their place was a ****ing disgrace, Bidwell should never have been sent off at our place, and it didn't look like a penalty either, yet they still harp on about how the football league our against them because of the sending off at Bournemouth. If we don't go up my only hope is they don't as they epitomise everything that is wrong with football, diving, cheating, being a B Club etc.

Well I agree there are some who see nothing wrong with our players particularly on WFC forums but then all clubs have those.

They get up-tight if you dare criticise anything about the Pozzos or a player..there is one fan in particularly who seems to think the refs give nothing to us and everything against us.

Quite frankly people like FF don't help our cause.

Agree it's a big if. Even so it was entirely his own fault. If the FA can't sort this incident out then they should charge themselves with bringing the game into disrepute.

Will be interesting to see what the authorities do with this as " simulation " is hard to prove in many cases but this is as clear as they get. Getting a fellow pro sent off should be the lowest of the low but these days it seems to be the norm. Can't get my head round it to be honest as it is pure cheating but seemingly you can't use that word!

The FA sure need to get on top of simulation or perhaps they could organise an Oscar type of event showcasing the best examples. JBN rejected Hollywood, as I would but who knows given how the game changes so quickly now.

The Rivaldo WC incident made me sick especially as FIFA had said they would crackdown on simulation at the tournament. He should have been banned from the rest of the tournament and then players might have realised they couldn't prosper from cheating. They had their chance to do something about it. Maybe the FL should grow some balls and take the lead and give him a stupidly long ban. He won't cheat again after that.

heard that also - maybe not linked or justified but I would have imagined tensions were running high following this game. People that go to a football game should not end up in a hospital in a critical condition.

i don't know how involved he is for watford regularly... it may not affect them much... but he should definitely get a ban, that was disgraceful

I fail to see how the FA can reverse the red card and yet fail to take action against the cheating Watford player.
