Yes - under Wally Downes.

And you still come back for more punishment.

You must have been a complete and utter barstard in a previous life:D

what record did Blissett break with a winer away at Grimsby in Div 1? was that no wins at all or no away wins? cos that record was pretty dire aswell

Think we went 'only' 11 games without a win under Wally.

The 94 season mentioned above was about 16 games...
And I think we went about 13 games without a win under Mickey Adams etc.

1979-80 was 3 wins in 24 games. (That was the season we had to beat Millwall in the last game to stay up.)

And 1970-71, we lost the first 5 games: we had 2 points after 8 games - th eonly thing that kept us off the bottom at that stage was Newport County, who got about 4 points from thir first 25 games.

So, not a good run, but nowhere near the worst - hey remember even MA finished up last season with just 2 wins from the last 13 games including play off matches.

was it the last season we'd just come up from the bottom tier when we started really well then went 20-odd games without a win? seem to recall a bitterly cold awayday at chesterfield when they'd not won for about 23 games, promptly beat us & sang 'we're sh*t, & you're worse than us' at us whilst i nearly died of hypothermia on the away terrace :(.

It wasn't just that - it was no GOALS as I remember. Think it was 9 games, but might have been longer...

Yes i remember that run , it was away wins only and we had,nt won since before xmas on our travels, before that we had beat sunderland and birmingham 3-1 on their own patch.
We beat grimsby then followed that with a win at oxford.Beat barnsley in our last home game then got beat at bristol city for whom someone scored a hat-trick, bastard !!!
And he,s still a thorn in our side today !

Form

I think we beat Derby at home on Boxing Day 92 went top six in what is now the Championship then failed to win again at all until April 93!! :(

Form

Joe Joe, Ave a go.

Edit: Also no way we were top six... Top 8/9 I reckon :computer:

Of course there was Blisset away at Grimsby too

We went something like 19 without a win before wally got the bullet, then MA won the next game.

I correct myself... we went 11 without a win and then another 8 without a win under wally (1 win in 20) . We beat rushden 3.2 in MA's first game,

Form

We beat Rushden 3-2.

Wally was sacked after a 7 game winless run.

what a game that was, like Sunday football with a match dictated by the wind, Onandi Lowe I seem to remember missed a sitter late on to level things uo

Weren't we 3-0 up after the first half and then hanging on at the end? Alan Julian gave the whole defence kittens and we pretty much ended up heading balls from under the cross bar for the last 15 minutes.

That's what our next victory will be like. I predict a one goal win over Crewe and ecstatic relief at the final whistle.

Mad game,

They turned up late, the keeper Billy Turley gave us one goal and then they brought on the Winston Silcott lookalike who ran us ragged for twenty minutes but couldn't score a third.

Within weeks Lowe was charged with dealing and attacking a customer who couldn't pay with a machete and Turley was banned for using some of Lowes products.

Start of the great escape and special memories for life.
