Fulham thread

Their equivalent to Peter Gilham is also a presenter on our local Heart station.

He reckons that at the moment the only good thing about being at home games is that he is getting paid to be there/

£100m for a single stand? I understand that this is part funded by accomodating premium riverside flats in the structure and the tricky access and constructing the new riverside walkway will ramp up costs exponentially but that's still pretty highball.

LR is a pretty difficult site to develop, but that's been de-contaminated and built from the ground up for c £70/80m, (I'm not even sure that this is anywhere near the real figure anymore, suspect it'll come in at over a ton when delivered).

By the time that it's built, they may be in League 2, in which case it'll look a bit sparsely populated with a 4-figure crowd in a 30,000 capacity stadium!

Although there can never be an exact correlation between player wages and league position (Burnley, Spurs etc), it is interesting that Fulham are currently 15th in the PL Wage League, with an average annual salary of £1,727,440 per squad player (= £33k per week):

I wonder what sort of relegation clauses - if any - they have in the players' contracts?

I thought they might be higher...it seems that they spent the majority of the money on the transfer fees rather than on the wages of those players.

If they could get players whose wage bill is 15th in the Premier League, while spending the amount a top 6 side would spend on transfer fees, it suggests they signed players who they thought were better than they were IMO.

I imagine that the players they had in the Champ will have relegation clauses, while the new players may or may not... It's been suggested that Schürrle's two year loan does have a break clause in it should they get relegated.

The site was a waste transfer station before operated by Quattro I believe. It must have required some basic decontamination even if it was only scraping the top soil off.

It was originally a goods yards, with live animals I believe, though mainly coal and coke through time, but later had some oil transfer. There was contamination that needed to be removed and most was done speculatively prior to final PP as, I suppose, it enhanced the value of the land whatever.

With Southampton beating Spurs and Cardiff winning, the River Rats are now 13 points adrift with 8 games left.

Considering their appalling GD, they will need to win a minimum of 5 of their last 8 games.

With their next 2 games against Liverpool and Citeh, they could be down by the end of March.

Even if they win all eight games they will probably still go down.

let's not forget that Maupay last minute goal according to their fans gave them their best ever day out. Would hate to have had the season they have. Let's make no mistake about it they are now firmly in the sh*ts - once they go down half their team will leave and the remaining half will be players whom joined only for the money. It will take them years to go back up IMO. Couldn't have happened to a nicer club.

Even if they did as poor as Burnley and Southampton can be I reckon even they could scrape two draws out of the remaining fuxtures

They are in a complete rut and I can see them appointing someone like Lampard. Don't think they will be challenging next year either and seeing Wolves last night compared to Fulham - they both are a millions miles apart especially in terms of professionalism, organisation and how the club is run. Actually million miles apart from us also.

Think the Sat Nav may have been set a little further and that the Championship is only a short stop over on route.
