Some of you said it wouldn't happen. You were wrong.

I'm with you on this one, what's the best approach to take.

We have cones because colour matters to us. Red is our identity, as black and white is for others.

Who the hell is okaying the go ahead for this?

Is this shades of Eric Berne, seeing what can be got away with?

Sorry I seem to have resorted to rambling.

Could you post the picture on twitter including MD and/or the Ubermeister of Marketing with a hashtag of something like #seeingred and we could then all retweet it or quote it again including MD and/or the great swami of Marketing

I despair at how this is happening at Brentford FC.

There’s a red option, so bloody use it! :banghead:

MB employs these people and calls the shots. Blame him.

He doesn’t. His interest is on the pitch. MB allows others to “call the shots”. Blame them. ie Kurt Pittman and Mark Devlin.

If this is all you have got to moan about, things must be going well.

Sorry, no. He pays their wages. He may well pay others to take responsibility for marketing decisions, but that's no different from paying DoFs and coaches to manage players. He still pays for them. MB will have seen that Oktoberfest crap. If he didn't like it, words would be said or people would be moved on. There have been many marketing decisions which make us scratch our heads, yet KP and MD are still there. Does anyone ask why? I presume MB is happy with their work.

Hopefully someone smuggles some red paint in to the Millwall game and puts that crap right.

We are Brentford FC, we play in red and white. Thats your 'brand' you hopeless shower of overpaid muppets.

Fulhamification - A Progress Report

Looks like one of the training ground walls to me, not Griffin Park.

Yep, been up for a while.

I did notice marketing material for the Derby game was black and white though.

It's shocking Rebus, how the f*ck is that helping to build the brand? Ask football fans about 3 things that spring to mind when they think of Brentford, it's highly likely it will be pub on each corner, red and white stripes and probably now the penalty miss. What is this black and white fixation, it's not on brand and it's no longer current?

Fulhamification - A Progress Report

It's a justification of a job and trying desperately to show that they are creative and have purpose. I can't recall any of the most famous brands in the world bastardising their logo in such a way. I always thought brand awareness meant you diligently kept to the design in any use.

IWhat is this black and white fixation......

It's to be our new theme song as we're dropping 'Hey Jude'...........Michael Jackson statue already on order.

I know that Marketing has to justify its 'over-investment' (is that what Mark Devlin told us??) but who actually authorises this nonsense??

The next thing we'll be told is that our £400 season tickets will be in a black and white holder........hopefully when Matthew 'Freeloader' Benham finally buys one he'll see what's going on..

If you listen to the sage in Stripes Benham has probably "trousered" the money he saved on a monochrome logo!

I'm also pretty sure that Matthew Benham doesn't pay to get in. I've seen him and he waltzes in as if he owns the ****ing place.

:very angry:

This is what I mentioned in the other thread, strange how on other wall we have the normal badge too....

I don't get it why they would do that.

Very dull the grey and then black badge, lettering.

Yet another non story!

What, spending money on this crap and then going black and white and not red and white?

Thanks for your interest.

It may be that putting both colour and B&W up gives an opportunity to test view them on a good size scale in a location that not many will see.

Fulhamification - A Progress Report

Perhaps the most surprising thing is the wasted lettering stating 'We are Brentford FC' beneath our wonderful new crest that took just 18 months to design. To quote Mark Devlin's words from the announcement propaganda website "It's simple, it's iconic and it immediately tells the world who we are without even the need for words".... erm.......

Fulhamification - A Progress Report

i've just tried to find this on google but can't - but i have the black away kit we had 10-15 years ago, and the badge was monochrome on there. where were the moaners then eh?!

but why would we want to test a B&W version?

If that's all there is to worry about, I think I can live with that, and as Rebus has said, if it's at the training ground, the chances of any of us ever seeing it are pretty remote.

Nobody mentioned a word during the past few seasons when merchandise and training gear
in the club shop was black & white. Tops, shorts, trainers coats, black with 3 white addidas
stripes and a Brentford badge. Very Fulham looking, the badge was the only way to identify
the stuff as Brentford. Fans wore it as well. I've got the coat (given to me) I wear it on my winter
dog walks.

Crikey!

Personally I think it’s spliffing.

Can we also have a poll to determine which famous paedo will get the statue treatment.

Fulhamification - A Progress Report

I think we need to employ Siobhan Sharpe and her team from 'Perfect Curve' to add clarity to our branding. Do you reckon the marketing meetings are anything like this?

I don't have the same hatred towards Fulham as most but that's not the point.
I don't like the coat's colour, I wear it cos I don't mind it getting covered in mud,
it keeps me warm and dry and it was given to me by a mate. My point being, nobody
said a word when this stuff was being sold a few seasons back and it really did look like
Fulham clobber with our badge on it.

I believe we have established that it *IS* the point :)

God between the loons on facebook and this nonsense about the use of a black and white photo...cant you all get a life, stop moaning and get behind the team!

loon is a bit strong, but there you go,says more about you than me.
Faie enough. My point however is that fixating on this "supposed fulham issue" is just another way of undermining our club. Crack on, you seem to enjoy it

I think it's Fulham that are suffering from Brentfordification.

They won at QPR too.

A red light when you're already late

I'm with the yellow one on this it's off brand, isn't reflective of my club and it is important as I don't want to lose our identity.

I'm with you on this one, trying wearing a black and white scarf in the home section. Red is our "brand" identity.

Waste of a thread ..... Looks good. Additional merchandising opportunity. Get over it and move on.

I can think of one, and a football club at that:

juventus-logo-design-graphics-football_sq.gif

Juventus, working with design agency Interbrand, claim the following:
"The new visual identity, titled Black and White and More, is intended to help the brand grow in presence as the club explores new business initiatives less directly related to football."
https://www.dezeen.com/2017/01/17/juventus-football-club-faces-fan-uprising-after-minimalist-new-logo-graphics-design/

Juve are now sponsored by....

I think a few clubs have done this. If im correct Wolves have this colour scheme at their training ground and im sure there are a few more.

Not too fussed as i think its a phase that clubs are going through. Just so happens to match the colours of our local rivals. Now if they had painted it blue and white i would be fuming.

I understand the frustration and identity thing and respect that but im not too fussed. Just the club following a phase IMO.

Yes. I think Notts County are using these colours. Newcastle United too? Probably just a fad. ;) lol
