Full backs

Who should be first choice? Not last nights two for me. The way to beat them was to get it wide early but our lack of support for the wingers from the full backs put paid to this. If we have money left over I'd see if Wilson can come back

Full backs

for a start Tillen has got to be binned, he is just too weak in my opinion, the only other option I see is for Keith to play their. As for the right, has to be KOC, again showed last night why centre midfield isn't for him.

Full backs

KOC right back naturally..

left back is a prob.. Frampton has played well recently at CB so be a shame to move him back...

O'Connor and Griffiths of the players at the club. If we could get two players in, I'd go for Wilson as he can play both sides and a midfielder with a bit more football in him than Leary and Mousinho. I'm not sure what the position is with money - I suspect that it's all tied up in Skulason and I have no idea what his situation is tbh. I know he was on trial at Helsinborgs and I'm surprised that hasn't been resolved yet.

I don't like any of our full-backs.
:fishing:

Tillen did really well against Blackpool, and looked like he'd make the left back spot his own. Woops..

Osborne should never play right back again. He is a centre-back, and there he may succeed. Maybe..

Kev has been shocking this season (albeit only in relation to last) and we need him in midfield when Leary isn't playing.

Frampton is a centre-back.

Didn't Jason Crowe once play for us?

Wilson playing left back would and O'Connor on the right would be ideal but we need Mousinho and Leary both fit. Osbourne is a fill in player who can be good or bad, Tillen I'm just disappointed in and I can't see signs of him improving. :(

Wilson.......LB

Richards/Frampton..........CB's

O'Connor...........RB

Tillen can't hack it at league 1 level. Osborne looked out of sorts and really not interested..........he was huffing and puffing 15 minutes into the game.....i don't think he can hack it either at legue 1 level................

I can't remember where I heard this, so it may or may not be the case, but I was under the impression that Wilson had decided not to extend his deal and returned to Southend rather than us sending him back. It may be that he was looking for a longer deal with a bit more security but that we weren't in a position to offer him one.

Not according to Fitz's notes in last night's programme - he said Che wanted to stay..

it was the finances involved i think you'll find....................

i wouldn't have full backs. I would go 3 at the back framps richards and osbourne or griffiths and have 5 across midfield, keith and ide/brooker taking the "wing back" role.
We have 3 good central defenders so why not use them in those positions?

When Fitz "copied" northamptons formation in the second half we managed to create a chance or two and certainly weren't as "lightweight"

We need to sort out the midfield we cant keep losing the second ball match after match and i think the answer is 3 5 2.

lets not get carried away with this formation just cos Noton used it successfully against us.
Personally I would go with

Abbey
O'Connor Frampton Richards Keith
Ide Leary Mousinho Brooker
Shipps JK

Team for me :
Abbey

KOC/Griffiths - Richards -Framo -Keith

Ide - Moushino - Leary - Brooker

...................both Frampton and O'Connor have been out of sorts for much of the season whilst they have been playing at full-back......until fairly recently, Frampton has only been able to defend himself against the Paddock, let alone the opposition.............both were seemingly distracted by contract negotiations prior to signing new contracts, and since then they have not shown the consistency they had shown they been capable of in the past couple of seasons, which I think is borne out by the number of times both LR and Scott Fitz have tried alternatives...........personally I wish that Wilson had stayed, but here again, we get conflicting messages about his availability or otherwise, the old smoke and mirrors routine of 'it's Brentford innit'

Osbourne really needs to get a grip of himself if he is ever going to make it as a pro, ive given him the benefit of the doubt enough times due to his age but how many times will he keep on taking his eye off the ball and letting it run out, slicing it into touch and playing terrible balls to knowbody

I think it was quite clear with Wilson. Fitz wanted him to stay for a while longer, Wilson wanted to stay but wanted a longer term deal which we couldn't offer, simple as that

well for my money if Griffiths can perform there like he did on Monday on a regular basis then RB should be his, as for the other side deffo not Tillen, Kieth did well there at Hudds but.........?any others to choose from?please dont say Frampton cos he has found his home at CB

We played 3 at that back 2nd half. Griffiths played wide right / wing back back until Brooker came on and then reverted to the right side one of 3 central defenders.
So effectively he didn't at any stage play a conventional right back role.
