I know it's early but i was thinking how we could go given a full squad. Would we just keep the same team that played Wednesday? I was thinking if we were going to push for autos we may need to go even more direct and sacrefice some midfield. Have Pontus Ethan Julien and Mads in defence and said and sergi either side of mid with Christian in the middle with Ollie a bit left again Nico in the middle and Marcus on the right. One of the best performances of the season and you want to bring in unfit inferior players and have no proper full backs ?

As banana says why would we change from ours roots which especially this season has been so successful. With ollie up top weve mixed it up abit anyways, just look at his goal against Blackburn. Theres no need to make drastic changes though, will be nice to have janson and jensen back though, then canos and maybe forss/karelis can make an impact when a situation allows. Assuming the rest of the season is infact finished ofcourse

Are we getting 5 subs as well as the league above ? If so I think this will be a real advantage for us over others as we have so many possible game changers. Or even to go a little tight to see out a game. I think we will be at the forefront of any ideas on how to use this best, if we are allowed of course.

What on earth are you talking about? Why would we change what has worked perfectly well this season. Yes there may be the odd personnel change hear and there with squad rotation if we have to play a lot of games in a short space of time but nothing more than that.

When the season restarts, IMO we will be in a very strong position. Our squad is full of talent and we can defend. No team will be fully fit and it could be like it was many years ago when teams won because they had better players. With a sound defence and the ability to rotate an extremely skilful eleven on the pitch at all times, we could surprise a few.

Think it might have been Phil Giles in his GPG interview who said he thought teams like Leeds (high energy/high pressing) might benefit from the break, as it would in essence give them the opportunity of a "second wind", rather than running out of steam at the end of the season, like they have done in the past......

I don't think I want to see 5 subs used in a game. Cohesion often falls apart in friendly matches when lots of subs come on in the second half.

Not sure I agree. Our first 11 is so strong we would back them to get something from a game if we have them on the pitch as long as possible.

Could be but they will have to build up to that level which would IMO take more than a dozen games. We shall see

I agree we have had fewer major injuries but we were hit hard losing Canos, Jansson, Jenson.

Karelis is an unknown. He looked good for 30 minutes but him playing would have many movi g Watkins out wide.

I agree that we need to think about the implications of playing behind closed doors, to try and find an edge to gain there while others are waiting to see what happens. But a change in play style wouldn't be it, for one we have the players for the system that we play, that's not a coincidence. Secondly there is very little reason to change our style at this point. I would understand this if we were 22nd with 9 games to play, but we're near the top and are having our best season in a long time, why would a change in crowd scenario change our style?

Just before you posted this, on the Nikos thread you posted that you think he “has knees of glass”. Why then would you have him starting at centre forward instead of our 22-goal leading scorer?

....indeed....the 'crowd scenario' given the tempo we play at IMO will enhance our chances....so any hairbrain idea of changing is a no from me.

I doubt if Forss or Karelis will be available? Also, Jansson and Jensen will be some way off full match fitness. Jansson might be ok as I think he was back in full training before the break but not so sure Jensen was? Might well want to ease him back in. With Baptiste and Marcondes available we're not short in that area.

The point is that those guys will be some way behind the rest of the squad in general fitness and more importantly match fitness. We would normally ease players back in from the bench/B team anyway..
