Apparently they own the centre circle on the pitch and thin strips of land surrounding the ground!!

Perhaps we could contact Fullers Brewery for their "input" on this and the future of BFC.After all,a lot of Fullers publicans wont be happy at losing their "fortnightly windfall".
Anyone know anyone at Fullers?
(IMHO - I don't think Somalians or Kosovans are issued with beer tokens)!!

What is this all about?

If this is a serious question I can say now that the Land Registry documents contain no such covenants as to Fullers Brewery or anyone else “owning the centre circle”. There is an area of the ground, size 60' x 71', equating to the passageway from adjacent to the Bees Fanatic to the entrance to the Ealing Road terrace adjacent to the present Family Stand entrance that was in the original conveyance subject to the right of repurchase by the original vendors if the hereditaments conveyed cease to be used as

“a ground for football cricket lawn tennis bowls or other athletic or like sports or pastimes”.

The price is set at £150.00.(one hundred and fifty pounds). This right to re-purchase is subject to the following:-

“The provision contained in this clause shall deemed to run with the land and to be binding upon the owners or owner for the time being of the heriditaments hereby conveyed but the right to exercise the power of re-purchasing hereinbefore given to the Vendors and their assigns shall be restricted to the life of the survivor of the issue now living of H. M. George V and twenty one years after the decease of such survivor and such further period for which the same may lawfully be so given.”

Can I make a plea to everyone to stop all this nonsense about asylum seekers? The rumours are idle speculation (I know where they come from) and in any case are a total distraction from our cause.

Furthermore, we need to deal positively with the Council, who have a serious issue to deal with in the matter of coping with asylum seekers. We will not endear ourselves to the councillors if we start spreading scare stories.

I am trying to generate support from residents in Brentford.I would be interested in THEIR response should the asylum seeker suggestion be LBH's course of action.I accept it isn't relevant to Woking but if GP cannot,or was not, be sold then Woking would not become an issue would it????

Yes Chris, but its just speculation. You might just as well tell the residents of Brentford that they are going to build a nuclear power station on the site. Unsubstantiated scare-mongering will not win us any friends and could undermine our credibility.

No need. The provision only runs until 21 years after the death of the last of George 5th's children. I have no idea who that is but would assume whoever it is died over 21 years ago - or maybe not? Someone research please.

George V, while still Duke of York, married Princess Mary in 1893.

Mary had six children: Edward (1894-1972), George (1895-1952), Mary (1897-1965), Henry (1900-1974), George (1902-1942) and John (1905-1919).

Thus we are six years beyond the provisions of the Covenant, I would hazard to guess.
