Actually Tash ,joking apart this is pretty unacceptable.

However, I will reserve judgement until I see what new fundraisers are in the pipeline.

And please don't mention bricks.

I am afraid there will be a mention of bricks and other things too. Why is it unacceptable Rod?

The meeting was on 10th Feb, i am aware that is 6 days ago but since then my days have been taken up with football (and all that goes with that for me including, shaking buckets and counting all the monies, filling in raffle tickets etc), I had a day off on Sunday  , and a Board meeting last night. There has been little opportunity for me to pull anything together anyway.

New faces yet the same problems remain by the looks of it...

Is that why you're standing for election next time round then ?

Anyway, :backtotopic: I wasn't expecting to see anything on here straight away as it was a fund raising meeting where ideas were presumably bandied around and people then presumably go away to think of them and formulate the plans. The BU Board Members would have to take in to account the Matthew Benham investment that was being worked upon and how best to use that to launch fundraising ideas etc., etc., etc.

So stop yer whinging Brickie, just 'cos it's cold on your little mitts washing windscreens this time of the year, don't take it out on others ! ;)

Rod and Brickie Chap

I appreciate your interest in all matters fundraising, however as I am sure you are more aware than most (Rod) there are times when however much we don’t want to we have to put aside all things fundraising to concentrate on events that effect the bigger picture. Having been to 7 meetings since Christmas, having a day job, going to watch Brentford in every game they have played and indeed shaking buckets, conversing via email and telephone with supporters, forming ideas, talking to printers etc I have been fairly busy. Unfortuantely something has had to give and in this instance it is the fundraising update and the timely production of the minutes.

This does not mean that things are not being done in the meantime. If you look on the BU forum on the GPG, you will see I am beginning to pull together the framework for a repeat of the walk of 40 years ago, the brick scheme (I know you don’t want to hear about bricks Rod, but others might!) is to be launched on 10th February, and in addition there are other plans which are being co-ordinated. I am not going to go into detail now you can read it in the fundraising update which will be available by the end of the week I hope.

I am sorry if you think this is unacceptable however my life already revolves around Brentford (which i am very happy about) but the only way I can do more is to either give up work which I cant afford, or give up sleeping…………………….

Tash

If you stopped buying every Auction item available you could give up work -

And you forgot to say who you would give up sleeping with.

Put me down for a Brick

Fundraising

Do the people that moan on the GPG about other fans not doing enough or not providing updates in a timely fashion, actually contribute anything themselves? By that I mean not just money, but their time in helping raise funds. Just asking.

Chaps,

I think we would all do well to remember this week's events which have shown that no news - both on and off the field - does not necessarily mean that nothing is happening.

In a week when the emphasis has very much been on reuniting and looking to really move things forward I think that the time has come to resist the temptation to be quick to criticise and show a little faith in those who have been prepared to give up so much of their free time to helping our club.

Chin up Tash.

I will indeed put you down for a Brick.......you will need to tell me what you want it to say though.....I'll send you an order form ;)

As for stopping buying the auction items......d'you really think you're gonna get em that easy!!!!! anyway that would mean i have to work even harder at the fundraising!

Too often in the past not hearing anything from a BU rep has meant that nothing was happening.

Agreed, however, I would in my defence point out one or two things.

Firstly, i have published a fundraising strategy and an update, I have answered all questions put to me by BIAS, which i hasten to add I answered as fully as possible. It has been less than 2 weeks since the last fundraising meeting, the person who takes the minutes is also a volunteer, they also have a day job. The minutes then need approval.

I have answered every question put to me as far as i know (bar one which i have just had pointed out to me and i will go and answer now).

As for timescales if i have published them and not stuck to them i apologise. As far as i know i havent done this.

Lastly, please dont tar me with the same brush as previous BU reps. I had hoped that if nothing else I have proved even prior to my election that I am someone who gets on and does things.

Like it or not you, Mark and Trevor will receive cynical responses such as you have on this thread (and the others have elsewhere) because of the errors made by those who went before you.

The news this week is a massive boost to the trust but it also means that you guys who we've elected to be in charge have to make sure you make the most out of it. I'd like to know more about how it came about and how's it's going to be used to convert more Bees into BU members.

As far as getting things done, on your side all that matters is how much extra you raise for the trust.

No.

We expect other people to do it all for us while we sit round on our back-sides doing nothing.

I have asked for it to be updated. I will re-send. Unfortuantely however i cant do everything and i am not a website administrator!

I've requested the latest figures and these will be updated for 10am tomorrow when I receive them. :)

These two posts don't tally do they

The man who controls the website seems to be saying he doesn't have the figures, and had to request them.

The woman who has the figures says she will re-send them

This is perhaps one of those occasions where you don't need to tell us what you're up to. It's quite alright to keep some things behind closed doors.

You cant have it both ways sorry. There was an intimation of a question, i cant answer it so i am trying to find out the answer.

How about we have the figures and the minutes and not the finger pointing between two board members about why the figures aren't on the website?

Sorry I'm not known for my creativity so how this would work I don't know. Could there be some kind of fund raising linked to our fancy dress party at the Tranmere game? No idea how it would work but No Coat seems to have collated quite a band of dresser uppers for the last game of the season.

Fundraising

how about auctioning off a proper 90 minute game on the pitch between for example Beesotted and Hey Jude?

Minutes are now available

Natasha do you want someone to run a spell check on the minutes before they're posted? :fishing:

Just read in local rag that Posh have received £200,000 from Norwich & Peterboro BS from a fans saving scheme where the club get 1% of all money saved in the scheme by fans. Not too sure how it all works but sounds a good and simple way to raise a bit of dosh.
Or have we already got something like this already going?
They have received over £1,000,000 in the 8 years of the account being started.
