Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has turned down a bid from Real Madrid of 100 million euros (£86 million).
So, GPGers, have you ever turned down an £86 million offer? Can't say I have.

Half of me thinks why is the press / radio media so obsessive about Bale / Rooney / Suarez every freaking day. 50% of football fans (in my estimation) want to hear about Championship or lower league clubs.
The other half is split between £86m is a lot of money Spurs could buy two excellent strikers at £30m each and still have enough left to pay for their fans away travel etc.
But if they sell Bale they will be 15 points adrift this season. Dilemma.
I don't think Bale will go as at Real he'll be competing with that left wing Ronaldo winker I think.
Spurs won't be silly enough to sell him to another UK team.

I cannot see how anyone can turn down that sort of money. He is a great player, IMO the third best (match winner) in world football (at the moment). But Madrid signed Ronaldo at the same age, for 80million and he scored over 40 goals in his last season at United. So based on that I'd assume his real worth in football terms is bout 60million.

Be mad to turn it down (even though I think it's BS and there hasnt been an offer). Spurs were meant to be getting £35-40mill for Modric and it ended up at 28mill... so who knows...

They also showed an interview with Daniel Levy in his car from 3 years ago when Modric wanted to join Real Madrid!

What next some grainy black and white footage of Neville Chamberlain saying he's met with Mr Hitler who has given him his word that all will be well and he even wrote it down to prove it?!

Chamberlain would be foolish not to take that deal. He's had a few good seasons but he's not likely to end up doing much in Europe.

It's great business for Spurs - but for Real? Not sure. Spurs last season seemed to have the team built around Bale's fulcrum which gave him a lot more freedom to shine. Real won't do that - and how would he fit in with Ronaldo's roaming?
